Every time this thread pops to the top, I find myself on craigslist or a car dealer's website looking for a more interesting/fun daily.

The A3 is very nice, but between the automatic, diesel, and front wheel drive, it isn't very exciting. It replaced a 2007 S4 that I miss a lot, but I don't miss the transmission troubles the dealer couldn't fix, even after flying in a tech from Germany and replacing the transmission.

Only picture I have among the hundreds of pictures of the 2002.

I even have more pictures of the truck we picked up over the summer for house projects. Here it is with over 3,000 lbs in the bed.

Then there's the girlfriend's car. This was on a road trip last year to Napa. We took the long way through the redwood national forest.

Even if it isn't yours I like the Macan Brent! I double take at these all the time- they seem like a complimentary daily to share a garage with an 02. Maybe if I ever finish mine...

2014 Jeep Patriot for commuting to work here. It's cool to see a lot of Faq members with other BMW's as primary vehicles- would be curious to know if those under that category were 2002 owners prior to owning other Bimmers.

It's a great car except for the seats. On longer drives, there's something about them that aggravates my lower back in a way no other car seat ever has.

Aside from that, it's as close to a perfect daily as a CUV can get. With the air suspension, you can change the ride and handling to your mood/passengers/road conditions. Great power too.

I've been looking at the E9x 335i as a next daily. I guess that would put me in the 2002 and then newer BMW camp. Need to stay in the A3 another year though. My goal is three years. Haven't owned a car that long since just after college.

In the order in which I acquired them:
1981 Toyota Corolla 2dr. sedan
1969 Chevy C10
1986 Isuzu Trooper II
1972 2002 nevada
1999 Land Rover Disco II
1973 2002 riviera
1997 BMW Z3 1.9
2001 BMW 525it Sportwagon
2002 Toyota Prius
I've sold five of my former Bimmers to one local fellow enthusiast over the last decade plus a slew of other vehicles, sold to various people, most of which I wish I still owned.
Oh yeah, just scored a 1994 Miata. It's for sale! (sold, 11/10!)
