Dunlop Wires

That's the first time I've seen wire wheels on an 02.  Cool.

Any close up pics?  And a question from an un-informed person...are wire wheels reliable?  I've never quite understood the physics of spokes.

Paul,

At minimum, at least Dunlop and Borrani manufactured wire rims for ‘02’s. Here are the specs on the current Borrani offering — yes, you can still buy brand new Borrani wire rims for ‘02’s — model RW4086.

My understanding is that wire rims are more flexible than the alloy rims that replaced them, and that was a primary reason they fell out of favor. Did they work? You bet. Racing cars, Ferrari’s. You name it.

See below. (Yes, I realize a 2000CS coupe is referred to as a 2002 on two of these photos.)

Best regards,

Steve

My Dunlop wires were from a friend I had in the Hot Rod industry , they were new old stock boxed dated 1975 , made in England , I bought parts from him for my business. I even got an English Ford set for a friend of mine in Cali too. I use them on special occasions :) I use the Tii mags for daily driving . I do get a lot of compliments when they are on the car
