  1. $1.36 is a deal... Here it's $1.52 to $1.47 at night.
  2. Fiouf... I was half expecting you to be selling the lab at that point... Good luck with the door hunt. Might want to try a body shop to see if its pullable...
  3. Nice work. Much clearer. Can't fudge about the dial being tough to read with the police no more. Just a heads up that Duke passed away a couple of years ago now...
  4. Sounds like that might become an expensive location!
  5. Amazed that it fit in that FedEx envelope. Must be that new inflatable type alternator ; )
  6. Count me in if the raffle is still open! Thanks. Pierre
  7. if its free, then take it and strip it. Sell the parts here. Can't go wrong helping someone else out!
  8. Top of my head If its a 5 speed: steering wheel - seats - tranny - front hubs and rear brake backing plates If not a 5 speed front hubs for a bigbrake upgrade on Tii struts and rear brake backing plates Search!!! is your friend!!!
  9. If i may, I would like to suggest quite a few yards/meters of practice beads might be in order, specially for a suspension piece under great loads and stresses. You need to learn penetration ( sexy welding talk I know!!! ) heat settings, gas flow, pull or push, tip angle, wire stick out, proper puddling, warping, single or double pass (with a 135 ) and wire size off the top of my head. MIG is forgiving but why push it. Oh and getting used to your helmet also takes time. I would get scraps of steel about the same thickness and practice your welds, cutting through the welds to see penetration, shielding and heat indication. I bought a couple of books that show what a good bead looks like and that helps a lot, one being by Miller. I practiced for a couple of weeks on all sorts of thicknesses before I felt comfortable enough to trust my own welds. Good grounding and really clean surfaces are a must! What ever you do, good luck and take lots of pics for us. Pierre
  10. Seems your hands are quite full!!! Where do you get time to turn wrenches? Ah to be back in college....
  11. Saw this ad for the liquidation of the IROC series prep/race garage. Might be of interest to racers and builders in the NJ and surrounding states. http://www.irocracing.com/ http://www.auctionlistservices.com/08iroc/index.htm Huge PDF list with ~1200 items so far. If only we were closer... If anybody can peruse the stuff and report back, I'd like a stab at a few pieces. Canadapierre
  12. smart move! although I hate to see them get crushed, there isn't much there to play with. It's worth it to shop in California for a good body. Not many rust free ones here... Are you parting the white one out? If so, I need a few parts. Pierre
  13. That shot brings back a few excellent memories! Pierre
  14. Hi Mike, Will you ship to Canada? Will gladly cover the extra postage. Thanks, Pierre
  15. Looking forward to some updates dear Oldguy! Hope all the family stuff is worked out. I hate to see this thread dropping off to the second page as time goes by...

  17. Thanks Ian! That was a classic and excellent reply with lovely details of mission creep or as some call it - while I'm in there doing that I might as well...! Looking forward to pics as I'd like something similar in the long run... Pierre
  18. NICE! So you deleted the brake booster as in took it right out i see. Are you using a racing pedal setup with individual reservoirs?? If so, do you have few shots? I've been thinking along those lines to lighten up the front end and mostly to gain some room for my future s14 transplant
  19. Geez! If you measure in days, that is wonderful! I was measuring in months and now progressed to seasons. We are trying to buy a 3 car garage with house attached for my cars/projects. Can't do any wrenching in the condo parking anymore. Will now settle for a single garage and concrete pad. Then the 02 projects will restart as will mission creep. Enjoy!
  20. That's the spirit Ken! I love the "mission creep" factor! It feels nice to see others suffering from the same quality! Glad there was no rust there. To get good soundproofing, you don't have to cover every inch. It's more about covering areas of panels to deaden the sounds as evidenced by the way BMW used patches in the wells and body panels. Mind you, if you have a few yards of matting and don't mind a few extra pounds, go nuts! Pierre
  21. well you can see mine in the basement parkade under a slight dust layer.... Shopping for a 3 car garage with a house on the property these last few months. Will settle for a creaky single garage and concrete pad for the parts cars. Lost the last one we put an offer on by$60K....in east van....
  22. Zenon with long hair? I live in Kits and see a couple of lady driven 02s around. I think one may be Jana from BCo2 board.
