  1. Nice stable when the 02 will be done! Might be better if the wife rides in the car tho.... How is the handling with the extra weight on the 320?
  2. Good to see some progress here. Sorry about the crappy welder. It sure doesn't pay to buy bottom end stuff for welding. Shielding gas is pretty much mandatory for nicer welds. I love my Hobart 145. Saved up a long time for the miller diversion 180 but tig has a big learning curve and i'm still at the bottom....
  3. Nice looking car! More pics of car, rims and girl- in any order you prefer What happened to the euro car?
  4. Was a silver squarie with 4 blue flames/triangles across the doors and oregon plated headed south on I5 We are now in Carlsbad- legoland tomorrow. Hope to see more 02s on the roads so if you get an energetic wave or high beams from a dark Toyota camry that would be us. Thanks for the excellent weather so far.
  5. Mark Make up some sort of platform that would elevate the tires off the ground leaving enough room to pull out the jack for test fittings. Seems you will doing lots of test fittings to get those monsters tucked in.
  6. Geez! I'm trying to finish #2! The dmv guys must like you every time you re license your cars they get money for the state coffers! What happened to all the others?
  7. Saw this car on the site a few months ago. My 02 hotrod project is in hiatus due to reproducing twice and raising the offsprings. The only times I get to visit my little shop is when the kids' toys need new batteries or I need to fix something in the house. As winter closes in, I'm ready for more inspiration so here goes As far as I can tell, it is a left hand drive full cage. Can't quite make out the driver name on the side either. Maybe a US-Canada-German-Finn-Swede member? I also can't find the post where this pic popped up. I always said to my wife that she could call Chip Foose and Overhaul my car. I would even act surprised for the reveal. Next best present was for Foose to draw out a hotrod version of the 02 for me and when I saw the picture, well Halleluya! Much appreciated
  8. Rot62 in NZ has done it one way quite recently http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,338579/ and Terry Sayer (sp?) has also done a few years ago and documented it here. Will keep tabs one this one also.
  9. +1 with scott. My neighbour is also a kick ass carb tuner if you need it and I've tools - but I don't want to jinx ya.... Such a cool ride. Only did it once in an 02 and that was to napa/sonoma. Those were the days when my car was whole.

  11. I paid $3500 US for full motor with 104K miles, engine wiring harness, airbox, PS & AC pumps, oil cooler, all mounting brackets, DME and .... 265 CR tranny. That was 3 years ago. Only scary part is cost of parts for rebuilding a S14 - which gets scarier if you look at CF airboxes and other performance tweeks. Pierre
  12. Thanks guys. Sounds like $4.50 to $5.00 is alright, plus this is in Canadian funds so even better Vs US pricing. Thanks Todd for the length. I'll measure this week. What did you use for the bends? oir you? Did you try to be as close as possible to the pillars and roof line? What series are you modding for? Did you use plynths or welded straight to the frame? More shots would be appreciated. Saw you post previous week. Cheers, P
  13. What are you guys seeing pricewise for 1.5" x .095 DOM in your areas? I was quoted anywhere from $4.65 to $5.65 (plus taxes eh - I'm canadian) per foot with lenghts of 17' to 22' available. Funny part was 1.5" x.120 was $4.50 per foot....
  14. Jake, I'll take both for $20. Do you paypal? Best shipping method would be thru USPS for me. No rush. Cheers, Pierre
  15. Any chance you have a straight Passenger side frame rail> Pierre
  16. Hi John, Left a voice mail yesterday regarding the turn signal seals. Any idea on price? Can you ship USPS? Thanks, Pierre
  17. Passenger side frame rail ( the whole rail that goes from under the P seat to the front valence) in good condition and not hit. Located in Vancouver, BC. Prefer bus (greyhound) shipping. I can use a US PO box if need be. Thanks, Pierre
  18. Sorry to drop in Anthony but can you describe how to remove the bearings from the hub and the tools used? Haynes isn't clear and I don't want to bugger them up. thanks, P
  19. Oh right... I was thinking chain tensioner which is still cheap compared to the S14 part...
  20. Wow! Sachs equivalent for..... http://www.autopartsway.ca/autoparts2/index.cfm?fetch=part~ID=1990~Mercedes-Benz~300SE~240433 $40 Canadian! Can't be hard to fab up some bracketry to mount. Might be a nice idea for the S14 guys.
  21. Felicitations Pat! Bonne chance avec les couches et le someil! J'espere que tout ira bien lorsqu'il sortira de l'hospital pour toi et ta femme. Je suis d'accord a 100% sur la richesse de la vie avec une mini copie de soi. Pierre
  22. Pat, If you need a good rad for your little automatic, I've got a nice one that came out of a 320i auto. Pierre
  23. Ah! A good dryer climate car. Do your homework before importing an American licensed car here. You should export it from the US first and then import it into Canada at the Pacific border crossing. Really just a little paperwork. The US side needs 72 hours advance to process the paperwork that you faxed in and there is little to no cost. Be prepared to explain that the car is a MODEL 2002 from 197x to both sides.... Been there done that quite happily. Also check out the local BC 02 site hosted by Zenon. Cheers, P
