  1. That might be a bit loud for the wedding... Well nothing that I couldn't live with really. I do know myself well enough that I'd be tempted to just forgo the wedding thing and drive the lovely alpine roads around your place, say following your tracks in the M2. But I do love the colour and flares! How does that compare power wise to your M2? Are you thinking about it?
  2. Agree with previous comments. Just change the calipers, weld onto that little numb after plenty of penetrating juice. Mind you, I've welded onto broken rusted bolts before. The heat of the welding was enough to break the rust bond. But I'd still juice it first- just to cover all the bases.
  3. I now regret painting mine plain ol' black! You will need to buy Bosch oil filters from now on the Orange Fram looks out of place!
  4. Sorry for the hijack. Mark, Always looking forward to your news on the resto. Beast02'er, are you maybe planning to repro the Schnitzer head?????
  5. Ah the memories. Kind of like being in the middle of a 4th of July fireworks 12" from your face....
  6. 1 - hot valve cover is normal. 2 - I found that the carpeting and underlay I had installed made it near impossible for the pedal to sit right down on the two knobs. Had to trim away sound deadner, underlay and a wee bit of the carpet set. Now all is well. Another option is some sort of hinge system attached to the floor and pedal. I think Lee V in Montreal has that setup.
  7. A good site with 36-1 EDIS wheels, coil pack (very clever!) and VR sensor mounts for sale. Looks quite well thought out for an MS setup. http://home.rochester.rr.com/hauers/EDIS.htm canadapierre
  8. John me too for pics please.... pondhopper@shaw dot ca cheers! Phil, if you use the 88'+ pump, make sure you extend the pickup pipe as they are shorter that stock 02 pickup. I'm sure you want every drop of fuel for the thisty beast to drink...
  9. From all my MS reading, it should be inside the cabin. Mine was under the dashboard, attached to the firewall, to the left of center ( around the steering column. Wires were running out to the engine from under the glovebox and MS was mounted in footwell passenger side.
  10. I can only imagine how much fun that is... a well sorted 02, on a perfect summer night, with the girlfriend, just you on the road, twisties all the way. I still remember that ride you gave Michelle and I around Angel point. Now multiply that feeling by 10 or so... Hopefully we will see you this summer if you finally get around to biking out killer trails.... and if I can get my little project going in the right direction... Pierre
  11. Try these two sites. Both with a version of MS and both with EFI. http://www.zeebuck.com/bimmers/bmvseite/ http://www.hbci.com/%7Etskwiot/2002_MSII.html
  12. Excellent on you! I might need to run a few errands in May... I'm looking forward to seeing that beast and maybe help turn a few wrenches. What gremlins are still bothering you? Happy New Year to you too!
  13. 10:1, 292, 5 speed, 3.64 open, pertronix, 32/36 I like cruising between 70 and 85. 70 is good for economy, just under the power band and 80 is just in the power band. 85 starts to get noisy exhaust wise. Even, predictable response and handling from the car between those speeds to either acceleration, braking or to steering around any bumps/idiots that get in he way.
  14. Sweeeeeeet looking homework Davin!!! New paint scheme in the near future for the red bomber? I was just thinking what color to paint my next shell. You gave me a whole new avenue to explore! Still planning on coming to BC and leaving some knobby marks and skin on our fabulous trails? Pierre
  15. 30mm and you most likely will need a thin wall socket. I bought a cheap one and ground off the excess till it fit. No issues 8-10 uses later.
  16. Hi Pat, I hate to say it also but I have no clue either. I'll check around with Zenon who has done the upgrade here in Vancouver and I'll get back to you with any description-part number stuff. If anyone else on the board knows, please feel free to to educate me! Thanks, Pierre

  18. You are such a tease... (agasse pisette, si je me souviens bien...) I'm interested in a 1970 low/high beam switch and whatever is needed for intermittent wiper setup. So when you dooooooooooo post it on the for sale site, consider this my interest! I have plenty of loose Canadian Tire money I can part with. If need be, I just recharged the color printer too... pierre in vancouver
  19. Thanks. I was about to head out and scope some sensors/tails and bungs at the junkyard. Will have to revisit the whole idea.
  20. make sure it is a wideband O2 sensor (3-4 wires).
  21. The nut is 30mm ( at least it is on both my 4 and 5 speeds ). I needed a thin wall socket to get mine out. I bought a cheap socket and ground it down till it fit. Impact gun a good idea as it is hard to keep the shaft from spinning..
  22. I've bought a tool called a mechanic's stethoscope. Same as your doc's but with a hard end. CAREFULLY use around fan blades/ front of car. Also, really amplifies the sounds so beware when moving it around and placing it on stuff Really cool to hear your engine at work too.
  23. Took mine out and made a little battery tray that sits right by the pass side wheel well in the trunk. Much better use of space for me. Don't miss it at all.
