I just went though this exact same exercise. I got the Eastwood 135 MIG welder. I'm just getting ready to start practicing and getting the hang of things.
I know you usually get what you pay for but for what I want to do this will probably be fine. The reviews I ready said for what it is it's not a bad little unit. Just don't try and make it do something it can't do.
Also keep in mind getting all the other necessary things you need to get started. By the time I got the gas, helmet, gloves, ect I had probably spend more on the extras than on the welder.
