  1. Thank you for the nice comments. I like it The car does tend to get a bit of attention whenever I have it out. Nice to see some of the younger guys get excited to see it.
  2. I knew I wasn't going to be able to count to 10 before Ray made a comment about the mirrors LOL
  3. Well Carl isn't the only one who gets to drive in nice weather Decided to take it for a drive today. Warm enough to wear shorts this weekend. Seems like it should be cooler this time of year but I'm not complaining.
  4. Please put me in link for the turn signal stalk.
  5. Brent the dyno sheet is attached as PDF in my post.
  6. Well it wasn't today but on Friday finally got to Church Automotive Testing in Wilmington, CA. to get some tuning done. The hardest part was the over 2 hours drive in traffic to get there at 10 am. Shawn was very professional and took the time to answer all my questions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Church. The whole process took less than 2 hours. The engine now pulls much smoother and has about 40+ more HP, yup it was in need of some help. We ended up with 259 hp and 255 lbs of torque. The boost was kept at 12 lbs. My goal was not to get every last bit of power out of the engine but to get enough to make it fun and keep it as safe as possible. Well I did want to get at least 1 more HP than Ray This is the dyno sheet. 752002M42Turbo.pdf
  7. Very nice work !! Thanks again for providing more options for all of us.
  8. I'm glad to see more options, never too many. I went with Jason's kick panels. I was more concerned with sound imagining then giving up minimal leg/foot room. I put the tweeters in small mounts on each far corner of the dash. I'm sure not to everyone's taste cosmetically but it works for me Again the good news is there are choices !!
  9. I got a couple of items done this weekend. I got the carpet installed on my kick panels. Took a little bit of cutting of the panels to get them where I wanted them. I used 3M 90 glue and it worked well. Will have to see how it does over time. I installed the new seat belts that I got from Al, aka bluedevils. Boy what an improvement over the set off of eBay. Yes they are much more expensive but WOW they are nice. If you are considering getting a set from Al, just do it !! I also got my third brake light back up AGAIN. Seems like whatever I used didn't hold up to the heat. I found some Velcro at Walmart that was rated to hold 10 lbs. Very sticky stuff but time will tell if it holds up to the heat.
  10. Ray what is a front plate ?
  11. Hagerty has a YouTube series called "The Wrenchmen". I happened to check out one episode about getting a 57 Beetle back on the road and the guy had an 02 in the garage next to the Beetle. A bit of a typical car fix it show but the production quality is nice. Just nice to another 02 get some air time
  12. Ray I really think you need to get that tool calibrated
  13. I did a Clear Bra on a daily driver. For the most part it worked really well. If something big enough hit the bra it could still damage the paint. But for all the little chips it was well worth it. I had a bus run over a truck mud flat and the bra took the brunt of the hit and I was able to get the rubber marks off. With something like a Clear Bra it's all about the installation. They had a pattern that was machine cut for my car which made for a nice clean look. From a few feet it was hard to actually see the bra. My daily driver was outside all the time. After several years the bra started to turn a very slight yellow. I would think a car that lives indoors this wouldn't be an issue.
  14. Well this silly screw driver was playing hid and seek in my engine bay. I won
  15. If it was on a Saturday I might have made the trip. Hope all have a great time !!
  16. I just went though this exact same exercise. I got the Eastwood 135 MIG welder. I'm just getting ready to start practicing and getting the hang of things. I know you usually get what you pay for but for what I want to do this will probably be fine. The reviews I ready said for what it is it's not a bad little unit. Just don't try and make it do something it can't do. Also keep in mind getting all the other necessary things you need to get started. By the time I got the gas, helmet, gloves, ect I had probably spend more on the extras than on the welder.
  17. Can we get a third party to verify the accuracy of that instrument ?
