    Intro

Disclaimer: I'm an engineer not a writer. That being said, I thought I'd start one of these fancy blogs. The direction I'll take this will be one of pictures and randomness, not so much how-to. There are plenty of great blogs with how to's, and the search function on this website works great once you learn to use it. On to the intro: I picked this car up about a year ago. I bought it from a real nice guy about an hour east of me. He had it posted here in the cars for sale section. I contacted him, and about a week later we were doing paperwork. The PO took great care of the car. He did some upgrades, and had maintenace items replaced. Much to my pleasure, the PO had Paul Wegweiser work on the car. Once I found that little nugget of info, it was a no brainer to buy the car. This is how the car looked when I picked it up. Just a nice clean example of a 1975 2002. It came with a webber 32/36, Recaros, and a 320 sport steering wheel. It was clear from the beginning that a suspension overhaul was needed in the near future. This is how the car sits today. I had the car up on jackstands for a better part of the spring. Here is a list of what was accomplished in that time frame. Suspension: ST springs front and rear Bilstien HD's ST 22mm up front, ST 19mm in back New control arms Polyurethane bushings everywhere Front spacers are in neighbors pool One dot pads in the rear Non-adjustable camber plates Brakes: Volvo big brake kit in front Stainless lines New shoes and cylinders in rear Wheels/Tires: ATS model 72504 in 15x7 Yokohama S-Drives in 195/50/15 Engine: New motor mounts Transmission: Shifter re-build 320 transmission mount New guibo Interior: A/C stuff in neighbors pool Long console installed Nardi wood wheel Exterior: 3rd brake light from Daniel Stern Ol Blue is running great thanks to some people I have to recognize. First of all, my #1 wife. She has fully embraced the 2002 culture. She's allowed me to spend countless nights in the garage tinkering. Paul Wegweiser. I'm lucky to have Paul in close proximity to me. Whenever I've needed a hand, Paul has been there for me and Ol Blue. Dave Bentz. Dave reached out to me on this very website. In short order, our families have become great friends, and we've shared many 02 adventures together.
  2. If your car is a 75 or 76, the 0227 muffler does not fit the hanger locations. You must cut the hangers off the muffler and reposition them. If your car is pre 75, it will go right on. Both systems I believe use the same diameter pipe. Be warned, I just replaced my system with the ansa center pipe and 0227 muffler, It is a lot louder than I was expecting. It sounds great, just louder than I was expecting.
  3. ^^^ What he said. I just did thus and had the "oh yeah" moment.
  4. Ireland Engineering has a kit as well. The prices are listed on their website.
  5. Yep, backing plates trimmed. Yep, spacers ready to go in. The hardlines just seem an inch or two short from properly sitting on the support on the strut. It was late, I'll reinvestigate today.
  6. Yes Marshall, you are correct. roundie muffler on square tail. I actually did see the pics in your thread. I think it was on a page somewhere in the mid teens.
  7. Looking for pictures of relocated hangers on the Ansa 0227 muffler. Searching produced no pictures. Measurements would be a plus. Thanks.
  8. Just a quick question. Did some searching and what I found seems to answer my question, but wanted to ask any way. I'm upgrading to the girling calipers. I removed the hardlines from the old calipers and installed on the girlings. Went to fit it up last night, and it seems the old hardlines are too short and don't reach the support on the strut housing. I may be missing something and will do more fitting tonight, but I wanted to confirm that I do indeed use the old hardlines on the girling calipers. Thanks.
  9. Emmet, I don't have any road time with them yet. I just got them mounted. Plenty people here have recommended them though.
  10. I just fit up some 15x7 et 26 with Yokohama s drives in 195-50-15. Looks like I may need a small spacer to clear tie rod joint.. ST springs, bilstein hd's.
  11. I have the complete Behr AC system from my 75 for sale. The blower unit came on when tested before removal. I don't think the compressor is working as it was disconnected before removal. Behr center console blower unit 4 switches (I have 2 extra I'll throw in) compressor compressor bracket condensor relay cylindrical thingamabob that hoses from condensor go thru. fan hoses were cut for removal I have most of the bracketry and bolts, some was lost during removal. Not sure what it's worth, so let's say $275 or OBO plus shipping. I'm going to leave it up as a complete system for about a week before I start piecing it out. system is located in Pittsburgh, PA. I will add more photos soon. Ryan
  12. Is this a California problem? I have no issues filling up in PA.
  13. They should've marked the driveshaft halves near the center bearing where they split. Did they get the DS lined up with the tranny output shaft? Does the guibo look weird or stressed just sitting there? Everything torqued properly?
  14. Dang man! oh well, looks like it was fun while it lasted. Good luck with the new build!
  15. I need the exhaust support bracket and all associated nuts and bolts. Thanks.
  16. I need the support bracket and all associated nuts and bolts. Thanks.
  17. How long did it take you guys to get your model 38's from D. stern?
  18. Thanks Mike, I'm not reinstalling the AC. It's in the neighbors pool per CD.
  19. So I finished removing the ac from my 75 last night. The ac bracket had two bolts that went through the water pump. One of the bolts was actually a stud. Do I need to worry about this? I was just planning on tourqing the nut back down to spec. There was no evidence of prior leaking in this area. There was a third bolt that went through the bracket into the engine block just above the oil pan. The bolt is 3"-3.5" long. Do i need to put this bolt back in? perhaps with a shorter bolt? This bolt did not seem to be doing anything other than holding the bracket. No oil or other fluids came pouring out when removed. I was not able to get a good picture of the area.
  20. I think they are the same. I just pullt the ac from my 75, there was no extra plumbing or anything that went to the heater box. There was a single wire I had to plug into to heater in order for the blower to work. When the ac unit is in there, it controls the heater blower.
