  1. Cool ride, I like the Schwartz with the tan interior. Welcome to the FAQ. Keep us in the loop on your swap!
  2. Use some washers to test how thick of spacers you will need. I just put 205/50r15 and 195/50r15 S-Drives on my 15x7's. My wheels are ET29ish (I am told) and will require an 1/8 spacer up front with the 195's. Your results will vary, my plans are a turbo M10 so I don't think the extra rear grip will negatively effect handling much. Too soon to say for me, but I like the way the 205's fit on 15x7's so I'd just try to make it work if I were you.
  3. I am interested in an Excellent condition front panel for the plastic grill model 2002. Replacement panels as well. Thank you for looking!
  4. I really appreciate Mark's posts. We've all been there, IMO the scarcity for good cars is why prices are on the rise. Keep 'em coming...
  5. The biggest "oh sh!t" so far was when my email to Speedracer_2002 bounced 4 days after I sent him $1850 for parts..... I was very lucky Danco_ was 3 steps ahead and already zero'ed this punk in and could provide me his parents contact information.
  6. Dude.... put BBS RZ or Basketweave in the search box....... My car came with 14" basketweaves.... Really common setup.
  7. COOP- Those are BF Torino's are some pretty seats, I think the Porsche Sport seats would look undeniably good in your M2. But then again I could see the BF's looking at-home in a caged car even if they look a little more Alfa-y, tough to make a choice when your car is already prefect . If adjustable recline is important I don't know if you would be satisfied with the amount of adjustment the bucket seats can give. Stefan is definitely worth a call, I originally called him to inquire about these seats at the link below but he actually encouraged me to go find some Rallye II's. Lol! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/8628461-post120.html. I haven't sent my seats to him yet but he is very knowledgeable and knows tricks which can tailor vintage seats to fit a modern build better. I'm sure he could offer some good advice.
  8. You weren't kidding when you said they were the best set you had huh? Who knows when another set like this will be up for grabs, especially a set that is already state side. GLWS!
  9. IMO if it's a ton of money do the research and get it right, but I will do my best to help. Here is how my ET29ish 15x7's fit without spacers. I went with 195/50r15 and 205/50r15 in the rear. I think 195/55r15 would fit similar to the 205/50's and give more neutral handling. The people I contacted doing staggered tires were using 205s so that's what I did. From what I read 205's fit up front but will need some extra spacers for the strut clearance plus additional fender rolling. Camber may help but idk. re: your wheels if the et38 wheels you have are the look you're going for you should be able to piece together whatever you need but it's an uncommon offset. There is a nice wheel section on here that pretty much covers the gamut for "correct" 02 wheels, that befuddling searching will yield a better result . FYI my guess is that et38's on a flared car would be a joke, I would want to make use of the extra room which would make the issues others mentioned even bigger. Someone who knows fitment for flared cars would probably know. Suspension? Go cut your stock springs and see what happens. Idk if anything needs to be change so look it up. The car will handle different and upgrade what you think it needs.
  10. If anyone notices a picture which is theirs and would like it removed please send me a PM and I will promptly do so. I hope this saves someone some time while researching wheel options! I have seen these vary from ET 18 to ET30. These are 2 Piece wheels.
  11. Lol seconded. I don't know what's worst, $250 EACH for US spec bumpers or $350 for a set of rusty stock wheels. These aren't 911's people.... EDIT: Credit to OP for updating the ad
  12. I'm interested in pictures of the pedal installed as well
  13. I was recommended to use Press and Seal roof flashing- apparently it does an equally good job as Dynamat for a fraction of the cost. Carpet (and your interior) looks great btw! http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/tech-articles-staging-area/153310-sound-deadening-noise-dynamat-vs-peel-seal-other-ideas.html
  14. 11:15pm 3/17/2016: Updated List Below, may add parts later and will bump post if I do. Thank you everyone for your help. I am looking for the following parts: 2x Rubber hood side seals, the pieces that go through the hood rod FOUND 2x Front bumper rubber covers. These are the rubber pieces which seal off the front bumper mount holes on early cars. 4x Brake line body seals, the rubber grommets where the brake lines exit the engine bay FOUND 1x Hood seal FOUND 1x Pedal box rubber pad FOUND 2x windshield Chrome front and rear and chrome joiner 2x B-Post rubber seals, this is where the vent window meets the hinge FOUND 2x Front door Vent window gaskets, the rubber which seals the windows in their frame FOUND 1x Turbo/Zender rear spoiler. Not interested in anything over $200 otherwise I'll do NOS, thanks though. 1x Set of Headlight buckets, good headlights are a plus too FOUND 1x Passenger side window in good shape FOUND I'm also interested in a good set of Tan front and rear door cards/panels and a tan rear bench. Thanks for looking!
  15. Yes, a beam. The rear rests on the rails inside of the wheel wells and the front is where the front subframe was. It did the job and it only took a night to design and build. I had to roll the shell out of the garage where there was a 6" gap between the garage and the drive and at one point it tried rolling the lower truss where the wheels attached off at the mount (tearing the metal joiner). Caught it before there was any problems and just put a new joiner and was more careful.
  16. Getting mine on and off it's stand was not a smooth job. Two engine hoists should do the job for you. Have several hands ready in the event things don't go to plan.
  17. I messages the seller a few weeks ago, he said it's sold
  18. Located in Wicker Park here, Sunday morning I was working on my car at my parents and realized that we're officially on the cusp of Spring and my car isn't even painted..... Guess I need to shoot for the Fall lol.
  19. I saw a Red square tail with original bumpers downtown Denver on February 8th. If you're here, nice car! Always a great to see someone else's 02 on the road.
  20. I'm going to carefully remove the two pieces on the engine side and depending how that goes, either refurb them or use them as stencils. The aforementioned pieces do feel like they are made from a different material to the firewall side and sound deadening in other places of the car. After reading the comments I also agree that the firewall side pieces are attached much more securely and do appear to be coated from the factory. Some wire brushing around the edges of the painted pieces and I think that'll do it for specialized paint prep on this area. Thanks Harold, Jim, and Conserv for your expertise.
  21. Hey FAQ, I've been prepping my engine bay for a respray and Im looking for a material which is similar to the deadening BMW put in the cowl of the car where the wipers and heater box are. I found moisture trapped behind the sound deadening below the heater box in the cabin and the current pieces in the cowl have overspray from a previous paint job. From what I see at this link item 2 in the diagram is not listed: http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=260651&ukey_make=980&ukey_model=13499&modelYear=1976&ukey_category=17293&ukey_driveLine=6494&ukey_trimLevel=11924 item 2 should be the cowl pieces. Thanks Kyle
  22. Depending on the condition of the car you are looking for and where you are located, the truly good finds are going to be a result of his/her own legwork. The best cars sell fast- I once responded to a 1-hour old craigslist ad for an incredible barn find in MN only to find the car sold 20 minutes after being listed. The above suggestion is legit btw, just about every component, problem and topic for this simple car has been covered on this forum. You will get out of it what you put in it. Someone posted an interesting question in the General FAQ section asking where to find the perfect 10/10 car. A lot of great replies there.
