  1. IIRC, it's not only pretty but powered by an S14. Need corroboration on that.
  2. Really? I do use it more than once but I had come to the conclusion that once it was black in color that the effectiveness was nil. I think it even says that on the label. I'll have to give it some more time before I discard it. I must admit that I am interested in trying citric acid to see if it is the key ingredient.
  3. I'm a big fan of Evapo-rust but usually for small bits only. It's a bit expensive for a jug. I'd like to know the ingredients to make my own. I would glass-bead a flywheel, instead, at my local DIY blasting shop for about 10bucks. Less than the cost of Evapo-rust.
  4. I remember a post that promoted new roundie 02 shells from BMW. I was excited. Turned out to be an April fools joke. Got me.
  5. Should be easy. Still purchase the 1/2" drive version. 1/2" drive tools are stronger than the 3/8" ones.
  6. 1/2" drive, 30mm. Impact gun recommended to remove the nut.
  7. If there is no or bad grounding the needle would be pinned at the top. If the gauge is active from cold to hot I guess it could be the sender.
  8. Jerry Fairchild Industries (Robert) is the quickest turnaround, but doesn't re-plate the hardware, unless asked. Best pricing too. Wes Ingram Enterprises does a fantastic job but has a longer turnaround time. My recent turnaround for reconditioning injectors is 4 weeks. Straight purchase is about 7-9 days to reach you. Thanks for the interest. Paul
  9. Probably not the right answer but how about the boot clamp on the slave cylinder. OR...try the hardware department at ACE Hardware. They just might have the right size.
  10. Impressive. Always thought your car was originally Polaris silver. Good for you. Ceylon is one of the greatest colors IMHO.
  11. The TTS should always light up a test light for at least a second before the light goes out. AFAIR. Look at the book again. The W prong stays connected while you add power to the G prong. Correct? Anyway, it still sounds like the injector is faulty. When I'm doing start up tests I look into the throttle body to watch and see the injector spray and then stop shortly after. It should not spray until the starter is engaged.
  12. To be clear...you used a test light on the TTS and the light went out on the 2nd test (power to G terminal) after a couple of seconds? If so, I'd say the valve is sticky or defective. Maybe more compressed air and lubricant will free it up. Otherwise, testing another good valve would confirm the condition of the original injector.
  13. @CoastalCrushI bought those. Not as nice as the originals. Example, the supplied screw doesn't completely become flush. You can see it in the pictures. I would much prefer NOS Bosch pieces, if they existed.
  14. @lewisfotopost your pictures here. It needs to be seen with the many other beauties.
  15. There are instances where peripheral devices knock or screech if they are defective or loose. I would do a short test, running the engine without the fanbelt. That eliminates the alternator and water pump as culprits if the noises persist. The oil pump chain noise is a rattle usually only audible at idle and on decel.
  16. From the title I was expecting to see a helicoil or a time-sert. Crazy.
  17. You might have to fabricate one OR call around to the various rebuilders to see if they have one from a scuttled pump. Good luck.
  18. I like that he uses yellow paint to mark settings and bolt security. FWIW, Wes Ingram does a nice job too.
  19. Fairchild? He does great work and FAST. He doesn't re-plate external hardware unless asked to.
  20. Fantastic! Congratulations. The additional beauty is the absence of the seatbelt warning sign hole. Which Alpina model are you building? Euro ti? tii? Neither would have had the seatbelt warning sign, AFAIK. To me, the dash looks so much better without that sign. Enjoy the install.
  21. Well, I contacted Stan and he sent me the piece you see in the picture. I promptly broke it. Arggh! I've sent him an email in hope that he has another, but I'm pretty sure he sent me the last original piece. I'm resisting buying new as I'm doing this for a friend and I broke one of his hinges that started this problem. I now know what not to do. I was hoping to restore this deflector without spending too much more money.
