My parents have a house in Ocean Shores Washington. You can drive on the beach there but according to my mom it is risky this year. Also the water is really gross down there right now. So. We are relaxing on the beach when we see a poor Dodge Ram get stuck. His buddy in a Dodge Dakota nearly burns his clutch up to kingdom come trying to get it out. We wander over there to get some photos and maybe watch a vehicle be devoured by the ocean.
My instincts kick in and I educate these fellows about how to get a vehicle unstuck using the resources at hand: a plank shaped piece of driftwood, a shovel, and a jack. Eventually his buddy shows back up with a non-clutch vehicle at about the same time as the towing rig (a circa 1975 suburban with a winch) shows up. In their absence we have dug enough and jacked enough to get the Dodge's axle off the sand. It is then easily pulled out.
