  1. Law enforcement can and will ticket you for not having a front plate. You can get the collector vehicle plate with no front plate and a $50(?) one-time fee. The catch being that as a collector car, you're limited on it's usage.
  2. Here's mine: 2761407 Malaga Also on the tii register Owned for more than 32 years....
  3. You ARE the man, G-man. Love the euro-bumpers. Wish my '88 535is had that look. settled for euro headlights.
  4. That's one of my projects this year - to finally put my snorkle to use. I'm planning on also "borrowing" my wife's digital remote cooking thermometer and take temp readings with the stock and ramflow filter setup. I’ll probably have to buy her another one as I’ll need to take temps at the throttle body and one inside the engine compartment, along with a third for outside temps. Geez… Somebody did this a couple (?) of years ago
  5. That's the car referenced in my earlier link about the stock tii intake being a hemholtz resonator
  6. Here is an old post that talked about the original design of the tii aircleaner being a hemholtz resonator I've used a K&N, Ramflow and now I'm back to stock. I still have the Ramflow. I've been meaning to take the car on the road with an external kitchen therometer and purchase as wideband and compare the two setups.

email sent, I'm down in Seattle and pick it up.
  8. replacing the boots and cleaning the CVs is pretty easy. i did mine this summer following Keith's procedures on the my20002tii.com. Couple of cans of brake cleaner, gloves and kits and i'm rebuilt. looks harder than it is. Ordered my kits from Rob at 2002haus. HTH

Glad to hear you didn't get rid of the CR.
  10. Thanks Colin. Next up is to replace the stupid O-ring seal on my fuel tank pickup......so I need to really get the o-ring seal replaced so I can drive it. I'm sure that Rob can set you up with that part. If not, I bought one a number of years ago from BavAuto...Part # : 62 16 8 782 015 (or is it the Real OEM p/n 16121110598?). Good luck
  11. i'm on the north end of Capital Hill. There's another malaga '72 tii south of my and a polaris '74 tii aroun the corner. Brian Capp used to be together a 02/02/02 +n-years. Don't know if he'll the do one this year. The NW 2002 SIG site is down and he's been working on a Cascade Roundel Society site.
  12. Congrats and way to go. What's next on the list??
  13. Now that it has gotten colder, you should verify that that CSV is working/not working. it injects fuel for a longer period of time as it gets colder. Mike McCarthy's books covers this in detail. I had a connnection issue with my timer box (being loose) that a fixed. Personally, I would just drain/replace your tank to eliminate this as a possible source. You may also want to check the fuel pick up screen and see what gunk or funk may be in you tank. Refer to this for guidence. I would also check the warm up regulator. McCarthy's book also covers this in detail. you replaced the fuel filter by the radiator support, using the correct filter? Good luck and report back.
  14. If you have an Behr a/c console you can use this one. i used it for mine.
  15. I went to Tap Plastics here in Seattle and found some 3/8 stock (PVC?) that has a texture, similar to the Behr AC console I had. As you can see, the texture is more than the original but i think it looks pretty good. This is bonded to 3/16 plylwood for strength and rigidity. Small angle brackets are sandwiched to provide mounting for the side panels, dash, shift surround and trans tunnel. It's very solid and with no sqeaks or rattles after 4 years.
  16. I read this post but have not ordered any of the LEDs. Can someone report back on their usage??
  17. The distributor is one of a couple of spares that i have on hand. These are not installed but part of my stash. I had both tested: one was good and the other one I was told had the broken springs - to be fair to the shop i only asked them to diagnose. It was a Sun distributor tester and i had the graphs printed. Thanks for the input, i'll check the resistance, play and check for rattling.
  18. Hamada, thanks for the link. Good point. I've had the distributor on a Sun machine and the advance was way off. The shop that did it told me the springs were broken. I'm not sure if this diagnosis was a "best guess" or if they had in fact examined it. Thanks for the info.
  19. Inquiring minds want to know as I have a 002 with broken springs. I know of a couple of places that do it and mainly wanted to hear your experience. Did you get a graph? Thanks in advance.
  20. i also ordered and recieved some parts from Rob 2 wweks ago. he's basically a one-man show.
  21. My thoughts exactly, i've snapped an old bolt and what a pain. While you down there, replace you hoses and belt if you can't remember their age. Use the BMW (or MB) coolant. Good luck!!
