  1. YIKES!! Close. Cheap. And it has a lot of good parts. AND, I can use many of those parts to put my 74 back together. I must resist the temptation. I would if I didn't have 3 parts cars I need to get rid of first.
  2. That looks like an M30 motor. They can be as small as a 2.5 liter to a 3.5 liter in stock for. The US market did not get the M30 525.
  3. The upgrade will only work on a tii which have pretty awesome stock brakes as it is. The upgrade is only beneficial to those who use their cars on the track or do some serious canyon carving. I have yet to fade my tii brakes when driven hard on the street. And I have plenty of braking power with Hawk blue pads. My track 2002 is running out of brakes at the track but I do have an M20 powering it. I am doing the tii strut upgrade with vented rotors and E12 calipers on that one. I will gain some unsprung weight but Wilwood superlights (which is only alternative) are too expensive for my budget.
  4. I have one. I just bought a 1980 320is that I'm parting out. Where are you located? I'm in SoCal.
  5. These look like early 320i hubs. 2002 hubs have studs that are pressed on. The ones in the pictures look threaded holes to be used with lug bolts. They do fit a 2002tii strut. In fact, from what I understand, you need these hubs if you want to run vented rotors and later E12 vented calipers.
  6. I have. Not exactly local tough (SoCal)
  7. I do agree about the look. The 4 runners have a much "nicer" look than that funky contraption of the later cars. But how do you attach the injectors? How do you set up the fuel rail? The E21 injectors are mechanical and the fuel lines are like the tii coming from a fuel distributor. Then you have the throttle body. How do you adapt a throttle position sensor for the megasquist? That's a lot of effort to make something work, just for the "look." To that I say: Keep the hood shut.
  8. For a megasquirst, you need a Motronic intake from an early E30 M10, not the K-jet from the E21. Anything can be adapted, but the Motronic intake is FAR easier to megasquirst.
  9. I have one. $25 shipped if you send me yours. I'm in SoCal.
  10. Those 320i's are practically bulletproof. As they say: "E21's are Friends, Not Food"... Did you see the stickers John made about E21s being friends and not food? Being on the subject, I just picked up an E21 as food for my 2002 and my E21. It was rusty and too far gone to be repaired. But it runs and drives. Even some E30s have to become food so that other E30s live on. Even my tii has E30 sport seats.
  11. Awesome show. I had a great time. No NKs. 2 E23s and 3 E12s and a few Bavs. The E28s were the only 4-doors that were well represented. The E21 Legion was there in force and that was very cool. They are starting to be recognized and appreciated more as time passes. It was great to see all those familiar faces and so many cool cars. We even had a 2002 (correction: an E21) that drove from FLORIDA!!!!! And of course, being in Southern California, the weather was glorious as the pictures clearly indicate.
  12. Plenty of 13 inch tires out there, but nothing sticky or performance oriented except for some R-compound. I have some left-over Yokohamas I am using but are no longer available. I have a set of A509s (remember those?) that are hard as stones but they still hold air and grip OK. I have a set of AVS intermediates that will hold me over for a while longer but after that, it's time for 15 inch tires. (All 205-60-13) I also have a set of R1s, a set of 008R and a set of A048s for the track, all 205-60-13 which is a spec-size tire for SCCA.
  13. If the base pivots, and it looks like it may, my brackets should work. http://www.probimmer.com/Pierre/2002_auxilliary_lamp_brackets.htm
  14. You are correct. The left caliper of the E12 mounts on the right of a tii, and vise versa. Early E12 calipers (75 and 76) are the same as tii calipers (except left goes right etc) The 77 on E12s have a wider caliper that accommodated vented disks. The calipers have a spacer between the two halves. Those two halves are in fact the same as the early E12/tii calipers. The 2002 upgrade involves using the later E12 calipers, with an early E21 hub (77 thru 79) and a vented rotor from a 77 only E21. And they will only mount on a tii front strut. And yes, they do mount forward of the strut on the E12s.
  15. You've got to post pictures so we have a better idea of what we're looking at.
  16. Do you have the door panels? Are they black? Where are you located?
  17. My opener latch unlock when you push away at it, (from outside looking in) not pull towards you. A wire with a hook can pull, but not push. And most garage windows are not see-through type. They have they type of glass used for bathrooms. They let light in but you can't really see through them. Therefore, without seeing the latch, it would be a lot harder to break in. (My door has no windows.) While breaking in is not impossible, this clip is severely exaggerated in its simplicity.
  18. http://318ti.org/ It is a bummer that you are in Ohio. (Not to mean that there is anything wrong with Ohio.) I have a complete exhaust system off my 96 that is getting converted to an S52. But shipping will cost more than the system is worth.
  19. I have not received your email.
  20. I have a center cap for the 14 inch BBS wheel. $25 shipped.
  21. Try this. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/pts/2596853441.html
  22. I make an fiberglass airdam that is reinforced to alleviate cracking. It's designed to be mounted without a front bumper. Click on the link below my signature for details. IE makes an ABS air dam. It's a different style that works well on early cars with a bumper. (Or late car with Euro bumpers.)
  23. That was a fun weekend. Great racing, great people, an awesome lightning and thunder show and when the downpour cleared, sleeping under the stars and a full moon. The racing was quite entertaining and exhilarating. The 911, E30 M3 S52, the old Rumbling Mustang, the loud Vette, the beautiful and very fast Datsun Z going back and forth... the 2002 in BS and CS fighting for inches in the turn, the Volvo spinning out under its own coolant, lots of action and thankfully, no serious non-mechanical damage to cars. The 2 spec E30 cars were very entertaining to watch too.
