  1. If you have the rear sub-frame out and are using lowering springs you may want to install toe-in and camber adjustment tabs while you have the chance. Camber will be 2-3 degrees off when you put the weight on the new suspension. Also welded in engine mount re-enforcement plates are needed. I have strut bars front and rear with a battery relocation in the trunk. I think the front makes a big improvement and I don't see how the rear would not help. For the price compared to all the hardware you are buying I think they are worth considering
  2. That's what was said at the meet by the owner. It had all the earmarks of truth. Red cluster in dash, 240 kph speedo, all looked like original Turbo and a "tanker" gas tank with like 2.5 extra gallon capacity.
  3. So an informal meet at a local bmw shop turned into a 2002 show with a real Turbo in attendance. I myself have never seen one in person it was a nice surprise.
  4. If you contact German Motor Works in Longwood ask Debbie or Jim if they know of any cars for sale as they are the most knowledgeable shop in the area. I know they have at least 5 2002's there. If they are for sale is another question as some are customer's cars and they own 3 or 4 too
  5. Almost zero actual organized groups or even informal get-togethers here in the Central Florida area. I have had my 2002 for 14 years and only a few cars n coffees or German car meetings to speak off. If you hear of something let us all know. Peace, Mike
  6. Had a buyer but no response......so back on sale.
  7. Locking Gas Cap 2002... $27 Locking Gas Cap 2002...FOR SALE 27$ including shipping. locking gas cap w one working key. Needs gasket. Clean and rust/pit free. Apopka Florida 32172
  8. I drilled mine out. They sometimes have an aluminum sleeve. Look in the archive there are some past posts I think.
  9. this was sitting at my favorite mechanics shop tucked away for his customer. Apparently one of less than 5 made by Dinan.
  10. I love em. Great tread pattern on the 14's. I have low mileage due to second car use. But they handle so much better than the old ones.
  11. I have the General Altimax tires on my 2002 but in the 14" I love them.
  12. I think there might be a middle ground here. The car alone might have brought 6-8 k before paint and body. The suspension work is a little more than "basic" (4 wheel disks, coilovers etc.) The interior is 100% leather, and looks like it could easily run into the 6k range or more with the stereo. The engine, well not exactly a factory rebuild (much nicer!) could run into 11 or 12 k. I can't see that build costing less than $40,000 with shop time.
  13. Wow if that's a $20,000 car mine is worth $40,000, Dash is a spider web, underside is weak at best, engine looks like it has not even had a quick cleaning. All the talk about the a/c and the one look at the unit in the engine bay makes me wonder if it is functional anyway. Yeah sorry Alton that car is worth maybe $10 K. Recent engine rebuild? They could have at least taken a wire brush to the valve cover and put a new coil in. Brake booster rusted solid! Yikes. In defense it does look good from the outside. I love those wheels.
  14. I have the eccentric version. It does not adjust or lock as well as the posi. I have to have mine adjusted as the right forward subframe pivot point slipped after a hard turn on one side and is off about 2-3 degrees. If the new style was available I would chose it.
  15. Zero pictures with any real indicators of condition. I wonder what the underside and trunk are hiding??? No mention of engine condition. I doubt it sells at all.
