  1. Welcome Beck. fixed your pics so everyone doesn't have to keep clicking on them. Looks like at least 100K on the car. Nice car, should be fun fixing it up.
  2. Thanks All for letting me vent. Feel better already. Great board. This is for the all on the board.... And......This is for all the creeps that vandalize our cars.... ---- ---- ----- --- ---
  3. Thanks, Michael. You know I don't need much of an excuse to drive 4 hours up to Hollister. But will have to be after our new Grandson is born. On Babywatch now, any day. Maybe I can get the "Inka Fairy" to fix it for me.....She looked at it and said, "that wasn't very nice for someone to do that". A 3 1/2 year old knows more that the miscreant that did this.
  4. had the same problem on the weekend, works fine now..must have been a FAQ glitch.
  5. I am NOT going to stop driving it every day. It still drives great, even with a few scratches. I won't let their total lack of joy and respect for other's property take away my joy of living and driving...I won't give them that power. Still irritates the crap out of me though. I agree with our 02 brother in South Africa...."it's not cricket"!!
  6. Thanks Esty, I have a few ideas to try when I can actually stand to look at it. Got a deeper one down the passenger side a couple of years ago, but it is not so obvious, unless you get down low.
  7. The price we pay for taking nice cars out in public. Delibrate act of vandalism. very sad..
  8. Saw the 507, and thought I saw a flash of a 02 early in the ad, couldn't be sure though.
  9. Just a bump so you can change the date again. Swap and show is back to May 21
  10. Well, crap...just when I thought I could go. You put it right back on my granddaughters birthday again. Maybe next year she will have her birthday party the weekend before..Love you guys, but she is worth it.
  11. Sorry all, been busy around here. If I can't fix something I use Schneider Autohaus on De La Vina St in Santa Barbara. Good guys, far from cheap but know old BMW's. http://www.schneiderautohaus.com/ There is a shop in Carpinteria (The town where the car is located) that I know little about except that they have had 02's on their lot. Exclusive German Auto Care http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/m-Exclusive-German-Auto-Care-sp89224 Given a choice I always trust Schneider Autohaus, but they are farther away from the car. Good luck, it looks pretty clean from the pictures. 76 02s aren't always first choice for Californians because they still need to be "Smogged".
  12. I am sure you meant Yosemite.....not Yellowstone. Both have trees and bears. Morro Bay, that is almost Santa Barbara (2 hrs). Rob Torres' shop is in San Luis Obispo if there are any mechanical needs while in that area. You have to stop and check out the elephant seals near Hearst Castle on Hwy 1. http://www.elephantseal.org/
  13. Can't help loving them.....wonderful cars..
  14. Thanks Rob, I stand corrected. I didn't think about the NK's, just the 02's. I have read that BMW introduced the 02 Tii in the Touring first to emphasize the "Sport" aspect of the car over the utilitarian aspect.
  15. The first Tii drivetrains were in the Tourings.. There are lots of Tii tourings. Probably more than the 1802 tourings..
  16. I just keep kicking it down the road.....looks a lot further away than it used to look.
  17. Early shot in the "homeland" before coming across the pond.... Home in Santa Barbara Frozen in Europe Toasty warm in California Favorite latest shots by "MotorMavens" Editor in Chief Antonio Alvendia And my most "special" photo.....the "Inka Fairy"
  18. And this was shortly after you sold it, visiting Santa Barbara on its way to its new home.
  19. So that is where those scratches on the driprail came from. I always thought it was from a ski rack. Hmmm, now you have me thinking....1974 Inka Touring?? I suppose you will next tell me that they were all 1802s. I have all the service records back to the purchase of mine. Spent its life in Switzerland and Germany.
  20. Some answers here: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/content/view/35/32/
  21. You have to admit...they are very pretty cars.....Spent quite a few hours and miles with these guys on California backroads and their smiles were just as big as mine.
  22. Google is your friend.....http://www.worldclass1600.com/index.htm I know little about them, someone else may...good luck
