    Does that mean that we can put another pound of junk in the lighter one?? Do you know which one is the newer one? Is one Euro and the other the US version. Maybe they made them heavier to compensate for the fat Americans sitting alone in the driver's seat.

    I believe that the SoCal Vintage guys are also trying to coordinate some "pre-Staging". I will keep in touch with them or they will chime in as soon as they come up with something definite. We were offered the chance of going in early to claim our own prime spot, but would have charged us $45 or $50 per car instead of $20 if we go in later. John and Jeff (SoCal Vintage) felt that was a bit steep. Since this is the first time at this venue, it will be interesting to see how it will go. Bimmerfest is usually pretty much "controlled anarchy", which means act like you know what you are doing, and you usually can get away with it. Our best bet is to "pre-stage" somewhere north of the Rose Bowl (Mall, High School, Industrial Park, etc) and attack as a group and go in together and park together, trying to hold some extra spaces for stragglers. Might even sneak in an EZ-up. It is going to be a little difficult to police all those cars as they converge on the Rose Bowl. This plan will get finalized in the next few days. I am depending on input from SoCal because they live near there. Stay tuned to this thread. What do you mean, it is not here, it moved to the Rose Bowl???

    I agree, great pics Daniel and Fernando. Well worth the wait for all the pics to load up. Almost as good as being there. Easier to respond to this thread than go all the way to the bottom of your thread. Again....Wonderful photography. How long was Fernando here? If he is still around, drag him to Bimmerfest. I love the Colombian 02 stickers.

You might as well bring it to the Bimmerfest the next weekend in Southern California. Who is thinking about coming?? We are trying to get an parking area exclusively for Vintage BMW's. With literally thousands of late model BMWs, we need to stick together to be noticed. Everyone needs to see the "Original Ultimate Driving Machine"

    If you are still around saturday morning, and have transportation, you can't miss Cars and Coffee in Irvine (very close to Orange). http://irvine.carsandcoffee.info/directions.php You should find some 02's there. Roughly 6:30am to around 9:00am. It is worth the effort to get up early and you can be back in Orange before 10 am.

    Which "hole-in-the-wall" did you find them?? For future reference. Cal Coast locksmith on Orange Ave in old town Goleta. Same parking lot as Red Pepper, the delicious chinese food place. A block off Fairview on Hollister, turn toward the ocean on Orange. Thanks..

    I agree with Andy. If you car still has the sheetmetal heat shield attached to the exhaust manifold, it may have a stress crack radiating from one of the mounting bolts. These are hard to see, but buzz like crazy at certain RPMs. Weld it up or drizzle a little JB weld on it to quiet it down for a while. Good luck.

    It was nice seeing you Steve. This was so awesome except she was whining about Friday so you can take the award back from her sir! Funny you mentioned texting! She gave me a hard time about the email/text while I am with someone.. so please accept my apologies for this bad habit as I was emailing my annoying boss.. I was the only Bimmer on Saturday and it was a blast. We got lost at some point and glad we did, because we ended up skipping a 6 mile gravel road "accidentally".. hamada Glad you had fun, I am ready to sign up for next year. Two days out of three without complaints isn"t too bad. She can have 2/3rds of the reward.

    Now I know what you were doing when I lost you. Very hard to drive and take pictures at the same time, isn't it. Hope your wife had fun too. Looks like you are texting her in this pic of you in the foreground, and her, sitting in the car in the background.

    Drove the last half of a 750 mile spin around southern and central California back roads. Then, scraped all the bugs off the windshield and tried to get the big smile off my face.

    Too busy driving to try to take pics, but here are a few... Our very eclectic group stops for a breather. Alfa, Mini, Alfa, Touring, and an occasional E-type or an orphan Porsche separated from the pack. This could have been taken somewhere in France or Italy, but was right here in California. Lunch at Baja Cantina in Carmel Valley Very skilled metal fabricators shop in Monterey Another collector/restorer's shop in Monterey Had to cut the trip short and head back home. Almost home, still smiling from 730 miles of great driving.

    Got the route map, drove thru the car wash. Set the alarm for early tomorrow AM. Now have to finish up at work so I can escape for two days. Maybe some NorCal 02s can tag along on fridays drive. Getting very excited about approx. 600 miles of back road twisties. :-)
