  1. Here is a turbocharged, intercooled M-10 in a Caterham from SoCal vintage 09. Photo courtesy of JKBIMMA Seems to have reg distributor, but modified hood.
  2. I hate you...that was a dirty trick. Wasted hours. gotta go now.. J/k.. pretty challenging. Thanks Beats trying to photoshop all those hoods closed in Jays Vintage 09 pics.
  3. All those Darn hoods open..... Steve and Tom understand. Show 'em like you drive 'em, not like you fix 'em. What Tom and I understand is that it irritates the crap out of Jay when he wants to take a pic of a car and the hood is open. But that is what he does, he takes some great pictures. My hood is usually closed because I am too busy driving or just dealing with life in general to clean under there, plus there isn't anything very exciting to see in there. (an 1802 looks just like a 2002) I do enjoy looking at what others have done in the way of underhood upgrades, but like Jay, prefer pics of the cars with the hoods closed. Here is what it looks like under there. Here is what I wish it looked like. (taken at SoCal vintage 09)
  4. Here are the numbers on my hatch dampers which are Stabilus Lift O Mat. You can try to sort them out: 047015 0400N 20/90 E11 1.803.128 Good luck
  5. I thought he was stunned by the beauty of my car......j/k Or, his car was parked in front of him, an he just realized that someone just drove off in it, leaving him standing there in shock.
  6. Thanks John, those are great pictures....They deserve a thread of their own. You captured the feel of the event very well.
  7. Never heard the word "throat" and "enema" used in the same sentence before. Nevertheless, much thanks for the additional panoramas, your photographic talents are greatly appreciated.
  8. Number 24 of a great group of enthusiasts, Dubois included...
  9. Great pic, Jay. For all of us in the missing 178 degrees, we did have our hoods closed, patiently waiting for our outstanding Jay Hector portraits. Maybe the "enema" comment refers to those who also have their trunks (boot) open in addition to the hood (bonnet).
  10. Isn't Quien Sabe Road considered driving school?? My AAA "stated value" doesn't seem to have those limitations. BTW Happy New Year, and it has been spectatular driving weather in SoCal.
  11. You are right, the rear is the cutest part of the touring. Congrats on the calendar pick. People keep bringing me that magazine telling me that it is my car.....I explain that mine is a flawed inka daily driver...yours is flawless colorado!! Happy new year..
  12. Thank you for your timely sentiments, and gobble, gobble from sunny SoCal....
  13. Sorry for delayed reply, just saw this response. Yes, my lab is in that triangular block across from trader joes. Here is a pic of earlier plate on touring and the "vanity" plate on the 76. "2E'S BMW" wife's nickname was "Tooie" for Suzie. Original plate since new.
  14. Welcome to the insanity.....What a great story. My first 02 was a 1976, and I still have it. It has been neglected since I got my 74 touring. You should enjoy the car and the fanatics who own them. A great group of people. I believe there are quite a few in your general neighborhood, that frequent this board. They will probably chime in soon. Many of us have officially enter the "OFC" (old farts club), and will welcome you warmly. Any questions?? Ask away. Most here have opinions and are not afraid to share them.
  15. there was one at the SoCal Vintage last month. Dubois took this pic of it:
  16. You are exactly right, that is the way it is here. You get 90 min one time per block per day 9am - 6pm. That includes across the street. You have to move to a different block or a different street. Our building does not have its own parking, therefore I have to park on the street. There are some non-limited streets nearby, but you have to get there early. When you drive an Inka 1802 Touring, you are a little hard to miss, or be mistaken for another car. Plus, the MeterMaid has already given me a couple of tickets before (the old fashioned tiremark way), so she knows the car.
  17. Since moving to a new office and having to now park on the street, I am subject to the "move your car every 90 minute parking dance". Today, went out, drove around, couldn't find an appropriate "safe" parking place (I am picky, I don't like people backing into the Euro bumpers on my Touring) ended up back in the original parking space. Checked for chalk marks on tires, finding none, left the car for another 90 minutes. Come out at lunch and find a nice $45 ticket on my windshield. Still no chalk marks, so I am obviously pissed. I find that our city has invested in an "Autochalk System", which using cameras and a GPS system just drives by at 25 mph and automatically spots violators. http://www.independent.com/news/2009/feb/04/police-get-autochalk/ So much for Free Parking, Your "stimulus dollars" put to good use. Big Brother is alive and well and now living in Santa Barbara.
  18. i got nuthin... you got me there If you "got no suction", I would think that you don't suck.....That's good isn't it?? Would you rather we go around saying "Blunt sucks"??
  19. Thank you for saving a masterful piece of writing..... Now it is "Hammertime"
  20. Ditto, Ditto, Ditto. It is pretty scary when they let go while you are driving. This was at about 10 MPH fortunately.(roughly 150K on them) Still had to change my shorts after that sudden halt as the tire tucked up under the fender.
  21. one word..............STUNNING!! After seeing it in person, the pics don't do it justice. Congrats on a job extremely well done. You have to be very proud of what you accomplished.
