  1. I second that. There is no better day than today. They are not any fun, if they don't run........ditto
  2. Here is a Cabrio made from a Touring....
  3. Have to see if I can make it up there. Anyone else from SoCal thinking about it??
  4. Alex, Absolutely spectacular photography. Really enjoyed them. Looks like you went up the 101 on the way home. Favorite part of my drive home to SB from LA is the part by the ocean. BTW you car is beautiful, very well done.
  5. I agree, it is acting like the solenoid is not opening. Won't idle, runs crappy. Sometimes the wire breaks at the solenoid. If that is the problem, it is a simple cheap fix. Sometimes just "spinning" the fuse solves the problem. HTH
  6. My Touring has over 220,000 KM on it, and a 4.11:1 diff. I have spent hours on the highway at 4500-5000 RPM. A little hard on me, but the car really smooths out and seem very comfortable in the 4-5K rpm range. Ditto on the advice to carefully check out the running gear. It is no fun having suspension failure at any speed. They really do seem to like to be driven hard.
  7. most entertaining thread. Wish I lived closer to participate... Here is a preview of you and your 4 minions doing the victory dance at the podium. And since you have accepted Otis into you team, you also have earned a visit from the "Inka Fairy"
  8. Outstanding photographs.....I was there all day, and you captured images I missed. Thank you for sharing your wonderful pictures. I know the organizers (John and Jeff) would love to use many of them. I think I recognized my hood. Glad I replaced that beat-up Roundel on it this year.
  9. Glad to help out. We have more pics of her than the touring.
  10. Halloween is coming. Pumpkin colors are in. Granddaughters are the greatest......
  11. Thank you, Jeff for a great show Here are some more pics of what the drivers had to choose from. An awesome collection of BMWs. enjoy..
  12. They have a category for "Swap". $35 gets you and your Swap stuff in. They park you in a special area. If you use the "register link" you will find some of the details in there. Hope to see you there. It is a good place to find deals on spare parts, or to get rid of unneeded stuff.
  13. No...temperature guage I think the turkey is ready
  14. The last time the Touring ever saw winter or anything like it was just before it was shipped to California from Europe. Now it is the Daily driver 12 months a year.
  15. Glad you are going to make it, Jim. Tom Jones usually rolls down from Bay area very late fri nite, and grabs a nap parked somewhere by the beach. Check with him, he may be leaving earlier. We should leave SB 7:00ish after Breakfast somewhere TBA. Email me, would love to drive down from SB with you. 16. I have a set of Thule racks, which I think they still make. Get the ones that clamp on your rain gutters. Most sporting goods stores sell them, check out their website. Yakima also makes good racks that still look vintage. [/url]
  17. We should be departing SB around 7:00am on Sat. headed for Woodley Park. Anyone wanting to join in or connect up along the way, post reply or email me. Another thread on this caravan http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,348429/ Santa Barbara Sunrise
  18. Great trip..."I knew you could, I knew you could" Glad you are back in SB. Are you leaving for Woodley park Sat AM...or going down early? Trying to get a SB caravan going.. So far, it is Tom Jones and I
