My nomination: "We Didn't Start the Fire" (Billy Joel) ARRRGGHH! (puking noises in the background) That song ruined my shopping trip. Kroger plays crap, the music is better at Trader Joe's!!

Just mentioning that song is cruel. Now it is buzzing around my pea-brain.

now: '72 Inka 2000 touring, '82 Alpina C1 2.3  & '92 M5T (daily driver)

before: a lot of old BMWs (some nice, some not so much), a few air-cooled 911s and even a water-cooled Cayman S

You are making me think of those songs now.

OK, now switching the stations over to COUNTRY! How about Dolly Parton's "9 to 5". Or the continuous #1 hit back in the '80's: Debbie Boone's "You Light Up My Life". ARRRRGGGHH.

Billy, don't be a hero.

Made me ill. I wung a propane canister at the junk radio on the bench from a creeper under the car... To make matters worse when it hit the ground it turned to The night Chicago died. DAMN.

"Life is a highway. I wanna ride it all...night....long...."

Does that guy only know one chord??? Geez.

jb

Life is a Highway by Tom Cochrane ...from the early 90's...I actually like this song!

Personaly I think Kings of Leon are terrible..they're a newer band on the radio....Every song by these guys has like two words in it that they just keep repeating over and over again...

too often for me: "Roses are Red" by Bobby Vinton. Arrrrrgh! Sickenly sweet....

Not too enamoured with "The Lion Sleeps Tonight"--playing as I type.

Teen Angel is another one...but a friend used to sing it with slightly altered lyrics:

"Teen angel, can you hear me,

Teen angel, can you see me,

Are you somewhere up above,

or scattered 'round the tracks, my love?"

and

"I'll never kiss her lips again,

They're stuck to the front of the train..."

because im on the road a lot i mostly just use the "seek" function to find stations. plus cooper and I just moved to the terre haute area and im still learning the stations around here. there is one that is a Rock ***AND*** Country station, so i'll innocently be tooling along listening to some random rock song when it will end and out of the clear blue sky a hellhorrorabomination in the form of a country song will come on, causing my ears to erupt in fountains of escaping blood, my hair to burst into flames, my eyes shoot out of my head and splatter onto the inside of the windshield, and I die upside down in a ditch on fire (hair burns pretty hot and spreads its flames pretty quickly apparently).

its quite an ordeal. =/

so basically, any country song, or "Christian Contemporary" (which brings images of the inlaws into my head) will do it to me.

that, and anything by hootie and the bowlo'fish. =p

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
