My M2 is alive!!

After 6 months, it's finally done. Stock s14 with 140k miles dynoed at 160rwhp/155tq. I'd like to take credit for doing the conversion but it was all done by Edge Motorworks in Dublin, CA. The car is running 95% mechanically, just needs to have the exhaust tweaked to my liking sound wise. The s14 is a loud little motor so I might even swap out my straight pipes to something with a resonator or even cats. Besides some early minor cooling issues, I've put about 800 miles on it in the last week doing my 100/day Bay Area commute. All in all, very happy with the project so far. Nothing like pushing an 02 to 7200rpms. It is very quick!

I'm trying to keep the sleeper/stock look at much as possible. May even go back to some 13" wheels. Cosmetically, it needs some interior bits and new paint but shows decent for now. I'm planning to put another 10-15k miles on it and tear it down next year for a mini restore. Unless I have another little one, I should have time to tackle that project myself.

Suspension: Ireland front Coilovers/rear stage II spring (cut one coil) 22 F&R sways

Brakes: Aardvark BBK (going to Lee's Massive Brake kit-unless I go back to 13"s)

Tranny: 5speed with 3.91 LSD

Can you tell us how much it cost for the whole thing? (motor/work) If you dont want to say it can you can email me @ arek@lightspeed.ca?

My plan is to get a new motor next summer/fall or have the stock one done up but havn't really tired to price out the work.

Those wheels look pretty good too.

future_assassin, I'll do a break down tonight and post it tomorrow here. Only because my wife doesn't come on this forum. Wheels are 15x6 BBS RAs with polished lips

NickVyse, Yea, I'd love to be on your site. That is where I got the inspiration from after seeing Ray Koke's M2. I was too lazy to sand the cover but I think it's growing on me now.

_z_, thanks for the compliment. The s14 is very buzzy, not bad low end torque but you really need to rev it to get the most out of it. It will really get up and go when you do. The lightness of the 02 helps a lot too.

Ash, come by the shop for a test drive.

Hello Ray,

It was nice to see you at the SIG meeting. The car is looking good. Hmmm, to bad we didn't get the chance to drag race the M2s a bit out there....LOL. Anyway congratulations again.

Regards

Jan
