Is your pinch weld the wrong color? Mine is a light grey color, was that normal to have a different color for differnet exterior colors?

Cool... It looks far better, I just thought after going to all the trouble to match the brush and spray styles in the trunk area, you would have it no other way but to get the right colored pinch mold :-P

theres nothing correct about my car. im just building it how i like it. i think black looks better, thats all

Nice work. Hey, is that deck fiberglass, wood or something else?

QR

its a composite material made by andersen. very similar to trex except in the way it attaches. it has aluminum cleats and the decking goes down like tongue and groove

I looked at that pic earlier and thought the exact same thing Harv... originally the whole inner section was painted black too.

A number of cars I have seen recently have not done this.

Todd

i blacked out the entire inner section on mine...after installing the gill and trim....all the clutter showing behind it was very distracting....

black'd out, the grill doesn't have to compete with the hinges, horns, etc

Blunt,

Your idea for placing the distribution block up next to the glovebox rocks! I was going to attach it to the firewall but was afraid of cooking it with my header and this makes it a hell of a lot cleaner.

What cable are you using to run the power from your distribution block to the starter? I just did a temp fit and the e30 starter cable will not reach. I'm using the hole in the firewall for the AC to run power to the starter and everything else will run under the dash and too the fuse box... Almost forgot, are you using self taping sheet metal screws to attach the distribution piece?

thanks casey but it wasnt my idea. i got the idea from chuck in south dakota who i believe got the idea from keith of my2002tii.

at any rate i think it does clean up the engine bay a tad. the e30 starter cable wont fit so im making my own. the main cable is a stock e30 unit and i attached the distribution block to the side panel with nutserts.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
