I can see a technical article in the future.,. That and a big can of electrical contact cleaner

On a serious note, you took one apart didn’t you Ray? Did changing the o ring out seem achievable? The scrolls could be cut by hand with a small carbide tip in a die grinder.

Well the dizzy shaft fits the stock housing, so one would figure a stock o ring would fit.

I have a new stock o ring here just for this purpose but have yet to pull the dizzy again.  I'll keep you posted.

I may examine how to cut a spiral...

Cheers,

I just replaced both my 69 and 74tii with 123's but the boys at 123distributor did not recommend the bluetooth or USB unless I was planning on racing, which I am not.  Saved me money with the regular and am happy with both!

They assume stock engine/ stock curve plus it won’t be changed again once installed.

That thinking does miss out on some of the other advantages of the programable models. Even adding a Weber 32/36 is cause enough to want to tweak your timing, coupled with changes in fuel mean that there are advantages in being able to move away from stock curves in terms of initial timing and ‘all in’.

I can’t speak as to why they make their recommendations. I instructed my mechanic to contact them and to see about the blue tooth and that’s when they made the recommendation. We rebuilt the motor with a 292 cam and twin 40 dcoe’s. I’m not disappointed at all. On my tii the 123 is better than the e21 dizzy I had on it. Not really an answer to your question but it’s an answer.
