Hi kbmb02,

My car is a '67 and is 6v.  Do you see an issue with that?  Do you think this motor would outperform a Tii engine?  Sounds very strong!  Thanks!

Please think about price as I am going to look today but this may be more interesting.

Morning Ken, Richard here from Boston, so what did you end up doing with this engine ? Also, in my planning for a build, I have 6 extra heads laying on the garage floor so before I start to offer them for sale, down the road, could you please tell me or recommend which one will be the best head to use, of course condition not with standing, but if they are all good what would you use for a hot street engine ?.  I have a 121 83, E21 2.0 77, 121T 79, 121Ti 70, E21 2.0 76, E21 2.0 75 and a 121TI 70, I do want to go with some high compression pistons and a 292 cam and side drafts, so any thoughts for a rookie would be very welcome. I can send you pictures if you want. Thank you, Richard

Ha! I was only (partially) joking.  I would love to buy that engine from you Ken but we are currently in the process of moving interstate.  My wife would kill me if I had a large crate full of M10 goodness turn up in the middle of packing up (not to mention the money).
 
Maybe I will try you again in 6 months or so and keep dreaming in the meantime. Good luck with the sale!

I am. Funnily enough, I am setting out on the nearly 1,500km journey in my 02 tomorrow. I am going to pace it over two days. I have some meetings in Sydney on Thursday and Friday so I thought I would drop the car off at a friend’s house in advance.

 

Slow business moving house for me. Lots of moving parts with work, housing, house stuff, shed stuff, cars, dogs and, I guess, my family. 

 

Not entirely settled where where we are living yet. Somewhere in the Inner West of Sydney (Ashfield, Croydon, Earlwood etc). When I am settled we should catch up, I would love to see your car.

Hey, sorry folks ... tried to post here two days ago, a software glitch wouldn’t let me (FAQ/Mac based, I think).

 

This engine sold, to a fellow who contacted me early and closed the deal.

Rich: If you’re having custom pistons* made, then - in my view - select the thickest/straightest/more-recently-cast cylinder head (because at the street/performance level, I haven’t seen data to strongly push any one of the casting designs over the top of the others). If you can find higher compression cast pistons for the 121 heads, that works, too.

 

*I typically use “E21” chamber heads in the race engines, and am currently building a hot street engine with same (yes, custom pistons). -KB

Dan: This engine sold, posted on March 1st (scroll up ... it wasn't overly clear). Roughly 4k with new carb, plus installation.

I'm currently working on 4 custom M10 builds, PM me if interested. -KB
