Need opinions on possible transplant

Fairly new 2002 owner - my first, learning a lot.  Floor pans are almost replaced - time to work on the mechanics.

Looking for opinions -

1) What is a fair price for an m10 + getrag 240 5 speed out of an 84 318i?

2) other than needing a driveline made, are there any other issues I should consider?

If I was looking into drivetrain swap options, pretty sure an 84 M10 engine wouldn't even make the list.

and you'd be downgrading from a 2.0L to 1.8L...

Take your existing block with rods, pistons et al...  mega-squirt with a turbo will be more power than you can use.

Light weight short throw crank makes up in character what the 200cc looses in torque. From memory they're 9.5:1 in europe, so viable for a couple of side drafts. Drops straight in, looks the part, screams, sounds good, cheap - if you're replacing a buggered 2.0 and you're on a budget then it makes a lot of sense.
