Adding a roundel to the C-Pillar, E9 style cues

Yup, it's your car after all, customize as you wish. No '02s are the same, that's one thing that makes them so great.

Jake - paint, wheels, trim, maybe a flag? :D I've never met an 02er who couldn't instantly pick their own car out in a crowd. And while I've not yet been to the Drive4Corners event myself, I think they typically have under a half-dozen 02ers participating, so it shouldn't be too hard... ;)

Haha you're right, I guess I just like it for being a little less typical of a mod and when you're on a 'saving for a house' budget, cheap but different mods (and hopefully still tasteful) become increasingly appealing. Same factors have lead to me and a friend learning to do body work and paint by trying for the second time on my car...but hey, he runs a shop (manager, not a body guy) so material cost will be cheap until we get caught bumming supplies :|

It's funny I might have a different opinion 1970 Sausalito so my first sight of a BMW coupe. That c pillar roundel stuck with me forever. Thought it was damn near the sexiest thing I've ever seen. I thought about putting one of my twos. Just haven't gotten around to it

I agree. The first time I witnessed one of a coupe I fell in love with it. Tom mentioned he feels it's [C-Pillar next to the kink] one of the sexiest parts of the cars...well some people like women with pierced nipples (not I) so what's not to say you can dress up a sexy part. I for one like a nice rear end dressed up in yoga pants, they draw attention to a spot you may have otherwise missed out on lol

First off Conkitchen, I think those are D pillars, not B.

Secondly, I'd argue you should've stuck with just the L&R roundels, three makes just makes you look like a poser...unless it was a ///M badge at the third location.

I thought about doing this a while back, but then realized that I already have 6 roundels on the outside of thecar, 2 inside.   I mean, how many is too many?

You'd have the same amount as the E9 and close to the same as the M1. Heck, I'd even consider 86ing the rear panel badge in lieu of the two pillar badges.

It wouldn't be that far off of most modern cars that have "Tacoma" "F150" "R60" "335XDrive" plastered on both the side doors and the rear. Then again I usually debadge them so I guess I don't agree with even my own argument.

Roundels on the pillars means that your wood dash is gonna delaminate and your front strut towers and fenders will rust out from the inside.

That's a true story right there.

Reviving an old thread.

Has anyone applied an E9 C-pillar Roundel/base to a 2002? Curious about fit/scale/etc.

Appreciated.

I'm going to try to add a modern front grille.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
