If any one is wondering about the correct shutz pattern for a '73Tii, this is what the factory did based on an unrestored '73Tii.

Huge amount of work has all come together culminating in final paint.

The paint will cure for several weeks while the engine is rebuilt. The bottom end is already assembled, head should be back from the machine shop Feb. 28th.

Glorious Color!

Vern is in paint! Doors are done. Trunk interior, wheel wells and engine bay have 2 coats. Trunk lid and hood undersides are done. When I talked to Steve he was very optimistic the body would be in color by the end of day Friday Feb. 23rd.

With how twisted and bent the nose was and how much work it took, I'm super happy with the results. Final panel fitting today before epoxy priming. Had to correct the fender/door gap as new sheetmetal needed quite a bit of work to fit properly. Of course the top seam of the fender to nose will be welded as the factory did.

Bumpers came back from the chrome shop.

Vern is in the sandblast stage, and then body panel alignment for fenders and door joint, rear lower indicator lights have been fit, need to work on rear panel badge alignment to get these to look correct.

Chrome plater has been sent a check for all the plating.

Cylinder head is at the machine shop.

All aluminum and engine parts are clear coated and plated parts shipped out for new Cad plating
Black parts are ready for priming and application of satin black , brake parts, in engine compartment and air box.

Happy New Year!

A majority of the metalwork is complete. Fenders are off again for some under fender media blasting. Firewall dents have been massaged back into shape. Dash is out and has been sent to Just Dashes. Trunk welds have been cleaned. We discussed door gaps with the new fenders, the gap tapers from narrow to wide at the top. I approved the work order to get the  door gap to be correct. Also discussed the vent window frames, Vern's originals are patina driver quality,  Mario is going to check his inventory and pick the best ones and we'll go from there.

Huge Progress

Vern is starting to look like a 2002 again. Lower nose panel is all welded. The rest of the nose has be massaged and trued, at some point in the past he took a pretty good hit. Driver side A pillar has been completely rebuilt. Chris fabricated a new lower passenger fender and flange. Trunk panel has been stripped and the passenger side trunk support has been rebuilt. Vern should be in epoxy primer by the end of the year. Then move over for body work, fairing, and paint prep.

Lower Jaymic nose panel needed a bit of extra work to fit correctly. The back of the panel has been media blasted and epoxy primed. Once final welding is complete, the front of the panel will be media blasted and epoxy primed.

Chrome & Brightwork

Vern's bumpers have been sent to the chrome plater's. All the anodized brightwork is in California at Speedway for stripping polishing and ceracoating.

Have been able to locate and buy the rear window latch covers from a FAQ member. The driver side rocker cover is fitted and will be welded soon. Currently repairing some lower A pillar perforated rust.

Sending in my application to display Vern at the BMW CCA Foundation after Mid America '02 Fest 2018, then driving him to Pittsburgh in July for O'Fest and the PVGP.
