This car was purchased new in 1976 from my father. It has always been garaged and is in immaculate condition. It has a rebuilt motor with about 10k miles on it, as well as a Weber carb. The interior and exterior are in amazing condition. You will not find a cleaner original owner 2002 like this one. I am entertaining offers and in no rush to sell. Serious buyers please email with an offer and we can go from there.

I think the steering column spline change was in late 1984 or 1985. That might be an E28 sport wheel. At least a friend's E28 had a wheel like that.

It is a late E28 wheel....both my 535iS' had these. Not sure how these fit the '02

Anyone get the impression that this car is original, at least as far as the body and paint are concerned?

I sent the owner an email with a few questions and did not get a reply.

I emailed and said that I could not make a serious offer until I saw the car, then made a small offer just to let the seller know I was interested. That's when he replied that the price was $20k. So much for offers, not sure why he did not just post that. Looks like a VERY nice car and it appears to have passed smog easily every time. At that price though, I would rather have a low mileage or restored tii

It is a late E28 wheel....both my 535iS' had these. Not sure how these fit the '02

I have the same wheel on my 02. I was told that it was from an early 6-Series when I bought it. I've never known how to verify that, though. I bought it used on the FAQ. Love it.

I used to have an E28 wheel on my car. It fits fine, but the horn connection won't work.

the steering wheel is an early e30 wheel...i have 2 of them, one on one of my o2's (not for sale)....the course splined e30 wheels are somewhat hard to find

I know of the e30 version on a 2002. Just slip it on, get the nut started, and crank it down with an impact. The aluminum hub submits to the steel spines nicely.

Say what you will, but it works, and holds up just fine.

Cranking fine spline wheel onto a coarse spline shaft might just be the most unsafe practice i've read about on this board. Good grief, get the correct steering wheel! Pre 85 wheels have a coarse spline. i don't know the changeover date.

It would fail visual inspection with that air cleaner when you try to smog it on the title transfer. Nice looking car, but pretty big money at $20K.
