OUCH - I know that part of Highland Park well, very busy area but a fun place to drive through. Set-back yes, but considering this happened in HP, I'm glad she has insurance. Good luck Bro.
Exactly! After making all my calls, I just sat there in a daze in my eye. These two guys rode up in their bikes and gave me back the reflector that was down in the middle of the street. Both were very heavily tatted with "AVE". Funny part was they were so apologetic for my pain, ha.

Glad you are OK!!

You'll get it fixed in no time. Do not let them total the car. If they do not agree on your value, hire an appraiser. They will follow those numbers.

People are clowns on the road. Can't avoid them. Just keep your cool.

See you in a few weeks!

Damn. Sorry to see that... and welcome to the club!!! If you want my body shop, send me an e-mail. They will work with your insurance. It is nearly identical to my accident except your's isn't as bad, and its the other side.

I second this. an appraisel is the best 200 bucks you can spend. find a company with a long history in the appraisel biz. I just got my 71 appraised for 13.5k. it wasn't the best.looking car (typical.paint and dent issues) and had a grey primed door at time.of accident. yet the recaros, e21 basket weaves, custom radio, carpet and the car being a second owner helped.

I think your.car should fetch 17k easy under an appraisel. if its a stock motor (with paint and rim you got its very a clean car)

pardon any grammatical errors in my posts, im probably on my cell phone.

If it is the other person's fault. You should be fine.

The appraiser had no idea what he was looking at when he came and saw my car. I only had it insured for $5k.

But... since it was the other person's fault 100%...

They went off the total value of my car (he went on NADA and found it to be around $12k).

They estimated the damages at $5500 with my body shop.

I threw in a $2k and had the whole car painted while they were doing the repairs.

You should be fine. The only drawback is that the repair and paint to my car took almost 5-6 months because the body shop started treating it like a restoration.... which it was...
