Amazing car I can only hope one of my cars will look as good as that sometime.

That green NK is also something....I think it's the same on I saw back at vintage at vineyards.

I'm no longer affiliated with Maximillian Importing Company in any way, please address any questions directly to them.  -Thanks.

Craft Customs, used to be American Stitches in Dallas did the cover

http://www.american-stitches.com/

To my surprise, he could not take the original covering off. Even though it looks sewed on, it kinda vacuum formed or molded on. So he covered over it.

That wheel looks great! I'm going to look into having Craft Customs cover the original bus wheel from my '73 tii. I've been wanting to have it covered for a long time. Thanks for that link,

John

John.

The Euro steering wheel was a generous gift to me from Paul Huber in San Fransisco. What a guy.

Time for me to have another realization.

My car had a wheel like that when I got it but it was in horrible shape and I tossed it.

Sigh

Bill - any mention by the judges of your spark plug boot on the thermo-time switch? We've got to find a source for those buggers.

Your clamps for the plastic runners look very nice. Here are some various pics. Not sure if any help. After many years, it would be hard to still find those original radiator hose clamps in any car.

The earlier, let's say early '71 and earlier had the fuel injection style Norma clamps like you found for your intake runners and booster hose. Those early factory photos might be correct for a '71 or earlier Tii but as far as I have ever seen the '72s had...........

My Dad's 2760007 (Oct '71) had this style radiator hose clamp when new.... Had a chat with Harmon Fisher about this and other details at the '93 O-Fest in Sonoma. I got to walk around with him while he was judging the most original '02.

They had BMW Roundels on them like this... Made by Norma.

SteveJ.... Winzer has the cloth braided hose you're looking for. Having a hard time finding it in grey, black is all we can get for most sizes anymore. we've got all the usual sizes including brake booster in stock at the shop.... Good excuse to come see the shop. :)

Many of the VW restoration specialists might have the grey cloth hose as well. Like BFY Obsolete Parts, Koch's, etc.... I haven't checked with those sources yet.

Bill, amazing work on your Touring as usual. Congrats on digging out the Judges sheet!

Edit to mention that those are early factory photos that Jim posted and thus are pre production (early) cars. And some of the pictures in the factory Tii manual are of NK 2000Tii sedans.

(Don can't get you any window tint, btw ;-) )

Window tint is something I can't get, along with homeland security stuff. Now tape and glue, how does it go? "Bob's ur uncle"
