  1. Would be nice to have a picture of a bare long neck frame for the FAQ side by side with this one. I have pics from the other side as well.
  2. Hey guys was wondering if you can help me Id. if this subframe is shortneck or long neck? Need to purchase all the hardware to mount to it. I'm aware the differentials are different as well as the trailing arms I have all the matching stuff but bolts are terrible. I think it's shortneck "newer" style, but unsure.

  4. As said before I also look at the chrome bumpers like jewelry but very nice one! I've seen countless pictures of accidents involving federalized bumpers on euro cars where the car is trashed and the bumpers are still nice and shiny lol. All those big bumpers are good for are very slow speed bumping into stuff.
  5. I'm restoring my 02 and will be repainting it this year, this information is priceless for me. Thanks a lot!
  6. Wow amazing initiative! It look perfect I would have gotten one for mine if it wasn't Euro.
  7. Hahahaha I totally know what you mean this is specially painful if the car has like 5 layers of paint to go through. I usually go with the grinder but again it damages the metal a little bit if you are not ultra careful. Best bet would be a soda blaster but I'll get one when I'm rich ; )
  8. Agreed on the Jalopnik suggestion those guys are like an army and have solved a lot of crimes.
  9. Hopefully it didn't, the car looks very well preserved to have been in several floods. They probably had enough time to get it out.
  10. Nice! What method did you use to strip down to the bare metal? Paint remover? Grinder? Sanding Discs and countless hours?
  11. Hahahaha that's awesome I'd drive that thing as well, needs a 6 cyl in the middle. Rear lamps should be 2002 roundies too that would look sweet.
  12. Definitively a new brake master cylinder will be needed, also depending on the type of master you have check on the grommets on top sometimes they slowly leak and the fluid accumulates elsewhere and makes you think it's the booster. One word of advice check it our RIGHT AWAY! You certainly don't want to have brake fluid inside the booster it will screw it up quickly!!! Good luck.
  13. Hey guys wanted to share this pic with you. (And check out the sticker on the garage door!) This was on an article regarding flooding in Norfolk,VA and global warming. Sweet 02 photobombing.
  14. Changing nose panels and rear panels is a nightmare compared ti just waiting for a roundie to pop. Or....find a square light with a rotten body and great mechanicals and a very good roundie shell with no rust and swap the mechanicals.
  15. Getting most of the last bits I need for the restoration, getting it road legal and finally a paint job. It's gotta be 2014!
  16. We were on the market for a new car and saw a Renault Fuego followed by a very very crappy 2002 a white coupe with one of those foot shaped accelerator pedals. Even though it was terrible I loved it. We ended up buying a Fiat 131 though lol.
  17. I'm interested about this as well would love to zinc or cadmium plate a bunch of parts.
  18. I would be inclined to think that the rear E21 bumper is not only wider but also has longer extensions.
  19. This contraption is what I use to replace lower panels and floors. Needs a forklift to get it up there though : /
