I prefer Mann, but I have used a Wix with no issues. However, I always keep an extra Mann on hand.

Not that there's anything wrong with that:)..the Seahawks do it too.

Wix or re-branded Wix always, never any problem.

I use the OC25 Mahle for the higher burst rate after my little oil filter fiasco with my M2. I wish I would have taken a pic of that oil filter. 1/2" longer that stock and all the indentations totally smooth from excessive oil pressure. It literally stretched

Hey Steve. Isn't the Mahle OC84 the oil filter with the higher burst rate? Or do I have them confused...?

no you are right. It is me thats confused. I have a stack of each here. the oc84 is several ounces heavier because of a thicker steel casing

Which of those mentioned above FILTER better? Remember tires are usually black and round, but some perform better. So do filters. I don't have the answer because I use none of the above. There are celulose papers and synthetic fiber filter papers and enhanced synthetic filter materials. Each have different removal efficiencies and life before rupture.

So make an intellegent choice and pick one that has superior filtering, has a strong case and has an anti-drainback membrane that doesn't get hard and become non-functional.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Jim, I always follow your posts regarding oil and filters with great interest. Switching my oil to Amsoil synthetic was based on some very helpful information you've provided. I understand that you're not inclined to endorse a particular brand of filter, but to help take the guesswork out, can you narrow things down a bit? TIA

Since I replace then after every race weekend, I use a Napa (WIX) 1335.

Since our first and last race of each year can be in the high 30's early in the morn, I've never blow out the seal in them with the high (c0ld) pressure.
