  1. No rush - I just wanted to make sure the ball wasn't still on my side of the court ? mm
  2. Hi @RumRunner - haven't heard back from you. Are you still interested? take care, mm
  3. Hi Rum Runner I'm going to hang on to the original cluster surround, it's in better shape than the one that is with my new gauges currently. So, at the end of the day I have just the 3 gauges (all working when pulled from the car) to offer you. So, it's up to you: I'll offer each gauge for $40 + shipping. If you buy all three I'll stick them in another cluster surround I have that has a few cracks in it to protect them during shipping. I would guess shipping will be ~$15 The next step would be for you to send me a paypal to mark@manasas.com. You are welcome to do buyer protection, vs just friends and family, but then please add 3% to cover the transaction cost Paypal will charge me. e.g. (3*40 + 15) = $135 *1.03 = $139 I promise to ship w/in 2 days after getting your paypal. take care, mark
  4. So sorry. This slipped my mind. Very sick dog recently. I will check now. mm
  5. Nice! I assume you are referring to the airbox? What is the sensor - air temp? What's on the other side of the box, Webers or Fuel Injection? It looks like a fuel rail, but then I see a throttle linkage too.....
  6. Sure - let me take a look and see what I have. I can't remember if I used the bezel from the '73 for the silver dollar gauges, or what. Give me day to get out there and assess and take some better pictures for you. I know the brake warning lamp cover has a chipped edge for example. mm
  7. I've got one. I liked the look of the silver dollars so I pulled it from my '73, in working condition, and swapped in a silver dollar set. What were you thinking price wise? I paid $150 for a 3 gauge panel. How about $40 + shipping? I would pull it from the cluster on the right in the attached pic. mm
  8. Super, super story. I can't wait to read the next chapter!
  9. What seems really odd to me is why, if there is so much damage around the perimeter of the pistons, don't the actual "piano" parts of the pistons show any impacts? I get that they are domed, but I wouldn't expect the carbon to stick to the pianos that well. It's hard to tell, but it looks like the pianos have a pretty undisturbed layer of carbon on them. I'm surprised the carbon wouldn't have easily gotten blasted off with whatever was rattling around in there, unless the engine was run for a fair amount of time after whatever it was exited. I wonder what bits might show up in the resonator? mm
  10. I do leave it on all the time. I think I should go back and look at any warnings that came with the gauge though. I don't remember a warning about leaving it attached.
  11. Electric fuel pump in the trunk with inertial switch cutoff feeds the Filter King which is mounted on the firewall behind the brake booster. The electric pump cured all the issues I had starting the car after any time it sat for more than a week. The arrow shows a 20(?)A inline circuit breaker I installed so that I can work under the hood with electrics on and have a way to kill the fuel pump. Since this pic I have also replaced the alternator and removed the external regulator and just generally cleaned up the wiring ?
  12. Don't forget sensor is supposed to be mounted 10deg or more above horizontal so that tip is lower than wired end.
  13. Nicely done. I bought the '72 brackets for my '73. Just need to get motivated. What did you do with the bumper wings? Isn't there an attachment bolt that will now sit further towards the rear of the car? Did u drill some new holes in the fenders?
  14. Can someone explains what this image is supposed to be? I'm strangely drawn in to it, but am also concerned that it might be a bit vulgar? Is that sushi or a human body orifice?
  15. 2nd in line please if #1 falls through - thx
  16. LOVE my Filter King. Important to note it's not just a filter - it's a pressure regulator TOO!
  17. It dawned on me while reading your original post that there is probably a market out there waiting to be tapped for Facetime / Zoom / Google Meet / Messenger real time video advising so no need to worry if your consultant is local to the Columbus area. GLWTB (I think I've seen this acronym here before, if not I mean Good Luck with the Build!)
  18. I love stories with a happy ending! We definitely need more details if you can get them. Not to steal your thunder, but I had a college roommate who had his '69 Olds 442 stolen from a campus parking lot back in the early 90s (so pre internet). A few months later he saw it listed for sale somewhere nearby and went to find it. Turns out a garage / used car place had bought if from someone who had forged a title. He went to the local police and they said yea, we'll send someone over in a little while. Not satisfied, he went out to his car and got a tape recorder (pre cell phones) and recorded himself telling the person on duty "I just told you where my stolen car is sitting right now and you are not doing anything about it". Long story short, they sent a cop with a tow truck to impound it and a month or so later he had it back.
  19. Hi Peter - very sorry. They're all long gone. I just marked this post as sold.
  20. That totally sucks. I noticed the VW van is listed as recovered now - hope your car has a similar fate!
  21. What method did you use to plug the knee trim holes? I keep meaning to do some research and get this done on my ride.
  22. Got the '72 motor up on a Harbor Freight stand yesterday. They wanted $69 for the stand in the store but were out of stock. I got it online shipped to my house for $53 with a coupon I found! Decided to mount the block sideways like others have mention on the FAQ. Seems plenty sturdy and stable.
