  1. I'd rather have a Turbo for that money. Someone is hitting the CRACK pipe again!
  2. I guess you need a crystal ball ESTY. My telepathic powers don't work that far either.
  3. Also sick of reading the SOB stories about how they have to sell in the middle of doing some modification and all of sudden work came up to their home or their moving. What are we stupid? No, they got frustrated and F'd it all up and want to pass it on to someone else. Then no contact info or pics. Then the descriptions of how great the car is and compared to others that none of us can see. Insulting.
  4. Anyone have a photo of an OEM early 1600 mirror? I just found a sweet drivers side mirror in all my BMW parts and believe it may be from an early 1600. Just want to be sure if it is real or not. TIA
  5. This is a seriously SIIIIIICK ride. Would love to have one of these myself. It even fits the profile of a Rat Rod. Love it!!!
  6. I must agree, your Sahara really looks sweet. When their old looking and faded they don't, yours has a nice fresh look. Like the wheels and stance BTW.
  7. Early 2002's and 1600's had the black. Not sure the cutoff year but my early roundies have the black.
  8. On your left should be HAZARD button and on the right would be the GREEN blank button. Some cars had an actual REAL GREEN button that was for fog lights. You could go to a stereo shop and get the fake blinking red light for an alarm which is what I did.
  9. grab the tii for sure. the parts alone on that car are worth quite a bit. if it isn't too bad you could restore that one. pics would be nice if you could get some
  10. I sold a perfect NON CRACKED one 2 years ago with it's matching glove box pad for 800.00. Of course new ones at the time were 1500.00 from Maximillian. Now you can get a NEW Dash from Maxmillian for 991.00. So yours is probably worth 200.00 with it's present crack.
  11. You can buy new ones for under 1500.00 from Maximillian last I checked. I stand corrected. I just checked with them an if you can believe it, they have actually come down in price and are now 991.00 and change. Never have seen the prices actually coming down in price. BTW Maximillian has changed their site.
  12. It may have also been painted. I have painted many old dash's that were perfect physically but were faded or stained. SEM makes a great dash spray for this application. Or as previous poster stated it could be a very good re-cover.
  13. Red coils are typically used with HIGH compression engines. Blue coil for standard use. Use the link that Bob provided but thats the gist of it.
  14. This happened to me also. Mine had been stripped by previous owner, so I removed it and unknowingly moved the shifter. Result: The slotted shifter rod inside moved and I was unable to get it back into place. Unfortunately it cost me 350.00 for a BMW specialist to open up transmission and put it back in place and rethread the stripped out hole. It was perfectly sealed before but now that it had been opened up and resealed even with NEW gaskets it weeps tranny fluid. I was warned this would happen by the specialist before he opened up. Long story short your likely going to have to open up transmission to correct the problem. Good luck, My mistake I misread your post. Hopefully you'll resolve your problem without any cost.
  15. Finally checked all grounds and all seems well. I had bought the alternator new. Is there a way of testing or replacing diodes if this is the case? It charges at 13.8 almost 14 volts. When I turn on one or all acc. thats when I get the volt drop. When I turn on stereo which has an amp no drop. WTF. Grounds?

  17. It was on ebay too. Not my taste but it was somebody's cup o' tea. Like the Golf though.
  18. My alternator is internally regulated and i was told it checks out fine. Thanks though for the info.
  19. Just came in from working on mine after reading thread earlier. Found my alternator ground wire was corroded to both ends took it apart and cleaned on wire wheel. It is now reading 13.8 volts from 13.5v but still when I turn on lights there is a drop plus turning on wipers and blower it goes down to under 12 volts. If I also hit brake pedal it goes down about a half volt. So my problem is not at alternator. It's a brand new AL 46 X 318 80 amp. Had it all checked last year including battery and was told all was sound as a pound. Tomorrow will check other grounds but I'm baffled at this point since I checked everything last year to no avail. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
  20. I will try this as well. I have been having the same issue but have checked all grounds and they seem to be fine. When I power all lights, blower, turn indicators and fogs I get a drop in volts even if it is just one of these. I guess I'll go through the system again. Wish me luck.
  21. I bought the last NEW one that was in the US in November of 2011. Purchased two but was only able to get passenger side. BMW only recently refunded the money for the other last month telling me that no more of them were available even in Europe and will not be reproduced. They were over 80.00 ea. I'll be hoarding them if I ever get my hands on any. Luckily I was able to find a perfect drivers side in my parts stash. 51 21 6 440 181 L and 182 R Good luck
  22. Mac is right. Considering the cost of the parts new, best to re-chrome what you have. Much less expensive. You could always buy new lenses. I have a few sweet ones but just can't part with them due to the ever rising costs of BMW 2002 parts. I feel I may need them in the future. A few years back I paid 100.00 each from Maximillian and thought that that was a lot. I'm afraid to know what they might cost today. Good luck in your search.
  23. I had a pair of these that I bought new in the early 80's on my VW Scirocco. Really nice mirrors and were inexpensive at the time. I think I had paid under 30.00 for the pair then. Seeing them now brought back a lot of memories of that car. GLWS.
  24. I have one in PDX for 150.00 plus shipping from 97068. More than likely you can find one from Ed at Berkley Motor Wrecking. Or Bill Arnold. Someone in SF must have one that is workable. If not I have a good one form above mentioned zip.
