  1. Carl Nelson @ La Jolla independent sells that by the meter. It is called "Elephant Skin".
  2. You could actually have ordered those from Recarro back in the day. Some Alfa Romeo models of the Milano had these as well.
  3. early 71 Mercedes "Alabaster" 6 hews up from "Chamonix"[/img]
  4. Didn't I just see these on Seattle Craigslist for 900.00 for pair? They look like the same pair.
  5. Didn't I just see these on Seattle Craigslist for 900.00 for pair? They look like the same pair.
  6. Thanks and appreciate the quick reply! I'm on it!
  7. Anyone have a nice pair of non-dried out plastic covers for the rear side window locks? I have a pair but are brittle and have broken apart. They are now NLA. These covers are typically white but maybe black as well. For years late 73-76. TIA. shipping to 97068.
  8. Too bad there are no pics of the motor and under-carriage Just the car going around the track.. Would be nice to see more detailed pics of the important features of the car rather than track shots JMO.
  9. I have two complete English sets. You may want to check JAYMIC then in the UK. I know they're available. I have purchased many of them over the years, both in English and German. I even have an Italian set in my goody box. Good luck with your search. AG
  10. Why print them off wen you can just purchase the lot from CN at La Jolla independent or Blunt or Maximillian or 2002 AD or anyone else. Complete sets are like 30.00 or under depending on what you need and are exact reproductions, usually on 3M vinyl. Your printed off ones probably won't look as good as the repro's. JMHO.
  11. First of all if you have a 68 you should have a 3 piece unless it has been replaced. With that said in the corners about 4" in on either side are two nuts holding top piece. In center of top piece are two snaps spaced about 18" apart. Push those up with thumb if you can get your hands in there .(Best if windshield is out but it is possible to remove with care.) On lower section (2nd) tray dash you will have to get your hand back behind in middle portion of dash. There you will find a plastic wheel which is the locking nut holding center dash in place. Most people do not know of this which is why many of these dash's get damage when removed. Best to access from glove box which will have to be removed before you try to remove locking wheel. Note: top flat dash will have to be removed before center is removed because bolts from top dash go through eyelet's in corners on the center dash section. Hope this helps.
  12. The one you are describing is the one they give you for free. But if you pay the 100 or 110.00 they will actually mail to you the build sheet for your vehicle. BTW, I purchased my 02 from it's original owner over 20 years ago and it was all stock. The original owner had purchased it as an Automatic for his wife. Unfortunately, he could not find the original window sticker. I went to the archive in 2008 and got both the free one and the more detailed build sheet from the archive. Both stated it as a US automatic. AG
  13. I have seen other US 257 vins that were also Auto's. In fact 2002 A.D. had one a couple of years back for sale. Maybe it is your info that is incorrect. Why would BMW be wrong about it's own build sheet records especially when I purchased car and it had the Automatic in it? BMW confirmed it in their own records when Vin was provided to them. It has been 40 years and all sorts of info gets confused and misread. Sorry about multiple post don't know what happened there.
  14. You are incorrect sir. I sent away to BMW archives and they had sent my complete build sheet and confirmed my vehicle had an Automatic and was Chamonix in color plus had AC and various other options plus imported into New York by Hoffman Motors. Pay the 100.00 and BMW archives will send your build sheet.
  15. Mine is an early 71 with the vin of 2570460 and was manufactured in Feb of 71. It has the knee molding and short bumpers. I switched out the silver dollars, console and it was also an automatic to a 5 speed. As I had discovered over the years April was the change over, yet on some cars as a previous poster stated, BMW would use up parts and introduce others to earlier models as they would receive them as the case on mine. Hence the knee molding in February. I inspected mine and was puzzled why I would have knee molding so early in the year. The holes in the rear side quarters are "factory" I had replaced doors and front fenders before a full ground up restoration so obviously they didn't count. My rear quarters were never replaced. BMW was very frugal. Love the earlier short bumper cars. My motto has always been "The earlier the 02 the better quality they were" of course this my own biased opinion.
  16. Call Dave Varco at Aardvark racing in San Diego. He will be able to help you out. I believe he has them. AG
  17. Didn't this same thing happen to another Inka owner or was it a Taiga? Also posted here on FAQ it was in L.A. too, maybe a year or so ago. I believe it was a tii as well. I would say you were targeted. Possibly even stalked for awhile before it was stolen. Maybe check out if anyone had any cameras in the area. Really sad to read this, I really hope that you recover your car. Best of luck. AG
  18. Yes the blue tint does exist. I don't know what the option list name would have been or number but the blue tint does exist. It is quite rare and I have only seen a hand full of 02's with this option over the years including the one I now own. I have loads of glass from clear to green and bronze tint, this one is definitely blue. After reading all posts I went out for the ol' double check and it is BLUE. The car does look quite sharp with the blue tint especially if it is Polaris or Chamonix, which I believe is what the tint was mostly matched with. Many of the 02's I had seen over the years were Polaris with the blue tint with the occasional Chamonix 02. So look in your stash bins and if you have a rear passenger side glass with hinge I would be interested as long as it has very minimal scratches. TIA. AG
  19. The blue was an option on some tii's. They are rare but occasionally you may see them around. My passenger side one is all scratched so I am seeking out another. AG
  20. Need the passenger side glass in blue tint for a 73 restoration. Also need the lock hinge as well. The one with the black plastic lock. TIA. Include price plus shipping to 97068. alfa2002gtv6@yahoo.com
  21. Am interested in your 02. email with your phone number as I may call you. Sean I'm in West Linn.
