  9. Jason, Thanks for the event. Glad I was able to swing by to meet you and Mike. Will need to give you a call to get a source for the stuff Mike used to strip the grills. Thanks, --John
  10. SFBay, I am going through the same exercise with my 72tii. With what little info the PO gave me and 02Les' info i am starting to piece together the history. Start with the states you know. Contact the DMV or look at their sites online for title/reg info/call them to see if they can tell you what state it came from and work backwards. I was able to get info from Fl and Ohio for free and had to give $5 to PA to track mine. Mine was at one time an e-bay sale also.
  11. I took mine to a local rad shop. Drop off, pick-up and $117. Worth the effort to me. Tank looks great inside. Outside is for me to do.
  12. Kevin, MTL is GL-4 - safe for synchros. Good for both BMW and Brit cars of the period.
  13. Kevin, Many on here will recommend Redline MTL (what I use) Also, someone wiser than I said make sure you can remove the fill before removing the drain

  15. Do you have AAA? You may be able to get them to flat bed it since it is less than 50 miles. Some classic insurance has flat bedding included.
  16. Curious about my car's life before me. Anyone have any info on 2760589? I bought it in 5/2009. The registry has it in the 6/95 Roundel and living in Pa. If someone has info or the 6/95 Roundel and willing to pass along the info please e-mail me. Thanks, --John
  17. who knew that the TR7 was such a trend setter
  18. Mark, While you are under there, inspect the guibo and the center bearing. I replaced both and while I had the driveshaft out there was plenty of room to remove overhaul the shilfter platform while I was there.

  20. Russ, Was it local to Atl? I want to have mine done at some point. Thanks,
  21. PKB, You forgot "spot" torque. Torque it until you see spots.
  22. I will take the other pump. Let me know how you want payment. Thanks, --John
  23. Steve/Jim, I think I see where the screw could go on the #2 inlet mount. There is a threaded hole but I do not have anything there. I was not able to find anything in the parts book or workshop manual and the pictures I have of a Werk shop resto do not show the wire going that far to the rear. I will defer to Bill for the authoritative answer.
  24. Steve, For what it is worth, mine is routed just like Jim's. Loose, no clips. Routed near the front injector and down between air pipes 1 and 2. Follows loose like Jim's (no clips, behind the throttle linkage) down to where it looks like it joins the harness just inboard of the steering box - at least it looks like it connects. Mine is an early 72tii. Hope this helps - let me know if you need additional photos as Jim's are very good.
