  1. I have read through numerous posts without success. I have a 74 tii with a pertronix module. I replaced the original starter with the sr440x starter a few years ago and all is good except for a tough cold start. I was not able to find a location for the swrt wire (red/black) that runs from the starter to the coil when I installed it so I am not getting 12v to the coil when cranking. In an attempt to play detective this weekend, I reconnected the red wire to the trigger terminal but the car will only run for 2 seconds. If I remove the wire it behaves as it did before - 7 cranks then it starts. When I did connect the wire, it fired instantly then died. Ant thoughts would be appreciated Jeff
  2. temps diving below 60 - oh my, the horrors ? on my tii - no switch. Perhaps you could replace what has failed and eliminate the switch??
  3. i'm in Chatham but my o2 is in NH - I have not seen the green one. There is plenty of automotive eye candy this time of year on the Cape. Planning on bringing my o2 down this weekend
  4. Perhaps the guys at Squam Lake Automotive can help! Jeff
  5. Had a great time in Pittsburgh. Traveled with Scott Sislane in our respective o2's from Nh. Long drive but well worth the fun. Interestingly, it appeared that over 1/3 of the cars had AC Jeff
  6. looks great - makes me want to light one up and flick a few ashes in - ha hopefully I will see you in Pittsburgh - Vern looks great! Jeff
  7. i bet you will be painting the whole side of the car up to the belt line - very tough color to match - spoken from experience - ?
  8. BavAuto - great folks who have been around since the 70's - I am lucky enough to live near them and can vouch that a walk thru their warehouse is a trip! Plus they do the show and shine gathering every fall and sponsor numerous non-profits - great stuff!
  9. make sure your heater is vented - 75 degrees is great as long as it is safe! Jeff
  10. I am using Chrome and Comcast is my provider - map works great for me - nicely done! thanks Jeff
  11. Roger leaving "Chasing Classic Cars" would be equally painful - Unfortunately they don't spend enough time with Roger who clearly has an abundance of knowledge
  12. ughh - that's a drag. I enjoy the show but I agree, Edd has changed. When you read about his past it is clear that he is very creative. Hopefully that will transfer over to a show of his own.
  13. seems reasonable to me - but I have also been drinking for two hours -
  14. I wouldn't buff it out - I would keep it "as found"! great looking 02!
  15. time for a replacement head or send it out for rebuilding - not a huge deal. you may also want to check your speedometer cable jeff
  16. define "broken" - is the needle just not working or actually in pieces
  17. Florida is a interesting option - nice to have choices - the rest of us are stuck with what we have Jeff
  18. I think the only reason my 68 got the jump was the fact I was quicker at the downshift - don't forget, it was 1974 and he may have been in an altered state - ha. I am sure I was. Also, at the age we both were, redline meant it wouldn't go any faster - ... again - great write up! Jeff
  19. while cruising to Boston from Hartford in 1974, a 2000 GTV pulled up alongside my 68 2002 on the turnpike - it was on - I dumped into third and then 4th and I was gone. He in turn was not quite as quick - even though I got the nod to race, he fell back. I ran her right up to redline in fourth and had a nice lead but at about 110mph he went by me in 5th gear - I remember it like it was yesterday I have always loved the look of the GTV - very very nice comparison - many thanks for the time it took to do so Jeff
  20. BAV auto for me - they either have it or will get it quickly - plus they are only a short drive away for me. Great group of folks where the owners have been around BMW's since the 70's.
  21. Trying to talk my wife into a $$$ respray - using the 71K number as justification - LOL
  22. I called Hagerty this afternoon and bumped my tii another 10k - I told them what the BAT auction brought - all they said was "wow" - LOL
