Independent Throttle Body setup for Tii

well, if you give each cylinder its own throttle body your bound to feed more air into the cylinders than sharing one common plenum.

But my common plenum feeds the stock tii all it can draw in. The single theottle body itself can be enlarged if need be. Most well built ITB's share a common plenum for tuning. Plenum runners can be extrude honed to get larger diameter. So there must be something about placement of the throttle plates relative to the cylinder?

We can supply you with a DBilas intake manifold, 2 it'b's pre-drilled for Tii injectors and the linkages for the itb's, but you have to make the linkage from the itb's to the Kugelfischer pump. Some guys have done it already. DBilas itb's are better coz they are shorter than all other itb's out there and you can use those red Alpina velocity stacks or the DBilas air box  with enough clearance as long as you have a Tii brake booster.

Never saw them with the injectors underneath as a 4 injectors TB. Injectors being positioned underneath usually is for set-up comprising of 8 injectors.

BTW 40mm throats is actually big. They are like 45mm TBs with 40mm chokes.

BTW I was in your neck of the wood this past Spring. I bought a motorcycle in Northern France and then rode for 10 weeks/20,000km to Morocco, back to France, Corsica, Sicily, Tunisia, back to Italy, the Balkans, Belgium, then went to the Nurburgring etc. I was in Grenoble (where I used to live) and spent several days around Aix-en-Provence, Cannes, hills of Nice and Monte Carlo at friends' place. I love Southern France, off season. ;-)

And I completely forgot you had your little resort up in the mountains... Damn it. Next time.

Brake harder. Go faster.

So exactly what is it that is gained by having independent TB's. Is it just about less restriction. Why is it that a common plenum single throttle body is said to produce more torque?

From speaking with many people a lot smarter and more experienced than I over the years, the short answer I've been given is: Next to NOTHING is gained on a tii by just going from the stock plenum to ITBs...unless you count the neat, whooshing intake sound and the also neat sound of oohs & aahs from fellow enthusiasts when you open your hood at shows.

People forget that the stock tii plenum is a tuned chamber, sized optimally to provide just the right amount of air. It is an extremely effective and efficient solution, devised by the best engineering minds of the day working for a world class company.

Now...throw in cams, extensive cylinder head work, injectors, and most importantly, revised fuel pump calibration (you're adding more air so you need more fuel), etc...and THEN you're talking. But I wouldn't expect much in the way of added performance from ITBs alone, other than the possible exception of marginally better throttle response.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
