Vredestein Sprint Classic vs Pirelli Cinturato CN36

Anyone have experience with a side-by-side comparison between the Vredestein and CN36?

I'm (over)due to replace my Yokohamas and am looking for the best driving experience when pushing the car hard. My understanding is folks love the CN36's and consider these to be the best performing tire available today.

TIA

I prefer the Vredestein but can no-longer get them in 185/70/13 size i like, the CN36 are super soft to me and I don’t really like the rounded edge of the tires…IMG_0838.thumb.jpeg.c16a0b1d10248692af0c7879dfb56028.jpeg

Don’t let the fear of what could happen

make nothing happen…

I like the rounded edges. On a lowered car with close tire to fender clearance, in my opinion, it allows for sharper turning radius without tire’s rubbing. It also works good with negative camber.  All personal preference I guess.

Neither of the two.
I really like the CN36 as a wet tire in the rain. In the dry it may be a good allround tire, but not suitable for pushing the car hard.
Vredestein I've had on the Austin Healey 3000 but that's comparing apples to peaches
Try looking for some Avon Cr6zz.

FWIW, Longstone offers the Dunlop SP Sport 'Aquajet' in a 185/70 13 size + others.  My recollection is that tire was pretty good back in the day.  Long time ago though.

Thanks Mark.  I remember the Dunlop SP “2000” (I think) model plus their very popular Qualifier.   Even though the Direzza has a low treadwear rating, it is very good in both dry and wet conditions.

So far, I really like the Pirelli CN36 on my tii steelies for the 69.

As far as 'good looking' tires go, hard to beat the CN-36 imo.  No personal experience with performance on any of them so no comment there.  Those Dunlops were used on a number of Hi po cars including the Jag xke.  They are interesting looking and vr speed rated as well (185/70).

+1

And the CN36’s are not just good looking, they have a period-correct appearance for an ‘02, if such matters are of any importance to you.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
