Welcome to the 02 fraternity/sorority...be sure and enter your car on the register that's part of the site--and post more pictures.

The site's archives has a wealth of information about our cars, but don't be shy about asking questions.  When you do it always helps to mention the car's VIN, as--especially with the early cars like yours--BMW made some fairly significant changes during the production year; that can make a difference in how to fix something.  If the engine is original, its number should match the car's VIN.

Like the color, BTW--looks like Golf (a bright yellow-ish green) but not sure.  Don't think that was an offered color in 1968, but you should be able to determine the car's original color--either by remaining unpainted parts or by the sticker that's near the VIN plate.

Glad to have you on board.

Welcome. Do not hesitate to ask questions. I was a newbie here a couple of years ago and, despite having lots of experience on lots of different cars, none were the BMW 2002 - I simply could not have undertaken the project I am involved in (full restoration of a '76) without the graciousness and knowledge of the folks on this site.

Thanks for mentioning the registry. I didn’t know that was on here. Really cool idea.
