Looking at steering wheels

Recommended Posts

My 73  2002 has a newer steering wheel that I'm not a fan of. Been looking at this Nardi Wheel or something similar.

Was wondering what people have and like. Also what is the preferred size that works well.

Most threads were kinda old, post up your wheel and any thoughts.

For me 37 is the perfect Diameter in a sporty 02. In a standard 38-40 is good.

I like wheels with not so fat rims in a classic car. My favourites are early thin rimmed Nardi in 38 (they are unot wood but unobtainium).
I also have some Personal that are a little larger in Diameter than MOMO Le Mans and Elite and have 4 holes in the spokes which make them more attractive to my eye.

The 37 Momo Monza is about the iconic wheel if it may bea little beefier.

Some of my Wheels are in this thread   John Pantel can surely contribute a bit too.

Robins Insta may help a little too https://www.instagram.com/_more_momo/

New Momo Prototipos are relatively cheap ($250-300) and would be period correct. I believe that they're only available in a 35cm though, which some find a bit small. Petri Sports are the gold standard but not cheap-expect to pay upwards of 1K for a clean 38cm. Nardi Classicos would look right at home as would 3 spoke wood-rimmed Personals, clean used examples of both being had for $500~ these days.

If you are looking for one on the cheap (price, not quality), check out renown USA http://www.renownusa.com/category/steering-wheels . I love their designs, but have yet to actually try them. I don't have the right adaptor currently.

Thanks, I forgot about Renown, great link  I like their wheels and Motorsport horn button and the shift boot.

It says  the size is 330mm I don't know if that could be too small but I do like the Mille Rosso.  Hmmmmm

Also, you can look into moto-lita wheels. I was thinking about getting one of them when I was doing my own research, they have plenty of options and customization https://www.moto-lita.co.uk/steering-wheels/

I have this one, brand new in the box, with the plastic film still attached. (I really need to make a for sale thread.)  It's beautiful. Turns out I just like black interiors... https://www.sparcousa.com/product/sanremo
