So after many years of the console sitting around I finally just decided to try and cover it myself. I had planned to get it covered professionally, but since I wanted to do it along with the seats and don't know when that will happen I just did it myself. This is what I would call a test run, but it turned out ok. It was a bit hard to get it around the lower radius so there is some wrinkling, but for now I think it looks pretty good for my first try at this type of thing. I'm unsure of how my dad was planning on actually mounting it to the interior though so I will have to figure that out eventually. I also plan on changing the face plate because I have no idea why he had so many holes for buttons/switches and I want to pare it down and make it less busy since I won't be putting as many things in.

Most (some? all??) consoles have a little U bracket close to the aft (skinny) end that has a single screw mounting it to the tunnel. The ends of the console pieces are screwed into the "ears" of the bracket.

Clear? :D

The console on my car seems to be attached on the passenger side. Probably attached somehow on the drivers side but can't see it.  Just a little right angle bracket

Was able to get one of the limited run Mason Engineering strut braces thanks to my friend Dorian. Current strut top studs were shortened by my dad 😒 so I can't bolt this down until I get the new front struts in. But otherwise I think it will be a good addition.
