Bimmerfest Auto Club Speedway?

I was trying to champion the cause for this (getting more cars to the Heritage Corral) I have since taken down my banner...and will be now attending "Friends of Steve McQueen" in Chino. All the other crap that goes on at Bimmerfest is hard to get past...

I first went to Bimmerfest at the Rosebowl where the Heritage corral was over flowing, at Cal Speedway not so much. seems like the majority was M4's with exhaust and wheels, more wheel booths with Tight dressed Booth Bunnies than anything else, the Suspension booth was like a ghost town. I think it's not in the cards for me this year. Best wishes for all attendees as well as displayer's.

This would be my first time going, but now I'm rethinking my plans...

I'm not really into the new BMWs.

I guess I could go for a few hours to see what it's all about and just bail if it's crap...

I've been going to Bimmerfest since it started at Santa Barbara BMW and can say that it's only gone down hill since.  Some of that's venue-related--which is understandable given how big the event's gotten--but it's also just a different scene now.  It seems like it's become more about the vendors than the cars, and every year there are fewer and fewer vintage cars.

I survived the first day of Bimmerfest, The show and the cars - it sucked. Lots and lots of F8X BMWs and M5s and god awful vinyl wraps. There was a low-hanging vape cloud that never seemed to disappear either.

Luckily for me I spent 98% of time on the race track driving the new M2, or hanging in the paddock with the other racers. Way better than the show itself.

But I did see a few very nice 2002s and Coupes.

some cars

some motorcycles

some airplanes

some surfboards

Well, I went Saturday, it was my first time. There were hardly any vintage BMWs as predicted, but the on-track racing was fun to watch. Got some free stickers and spoke to a few cool helpful vendors. Had a chili dog and left by 1130. Saw a really rare and bitchen red E30 wagon on the way home. Won't be going to future 'fests tho.

Same here. I wont be going unless i have track day privileges. Its real disappointing to see how things have changed since my first one in 2009.  I did join the BMWCCA while i was their and had a fun, quick conversation with Satch Carlson. He assured me the Roundel will continue to write articles about the older cars.

Didn't go. Would have liked to see other '02 but don't care at all about the masses of Mom's hand-me-down commuter revving incessantly and bragging about the "aero winglets" they spent their semester book money on.

Last year I took my young son to "see cool cars" and other than the 2002s he was underwhealmed.

I went both 2013 and 2014. Both times were underwhelming and filled with F series cars. Cool, but nothing I don't see every day on the road. Seems like the crowds have not changed much.

I hope the trend turns around. I would like to see a more vintage presence but I suppose our lack of participation is partly to blame.
