I have a Blaupunkt Coburg.  My car is euro spec.  Most interesting feature is that it has a footswitch that acts as a "seek" trigger.  Hitting the footswitch changes the radio station - it goes to the next station.  Good for the autobahn...no looking down.

If I ever take my console apart, I will give you the numbers.

Scott,

That's very cool. I've seen Becker Grand Prix's and Mexico's with the foot switch but never a Blaupunkt!

Thanks,

Steve

Sorry. I don't. That is a '71 model Frankfurt U.S. monaural.  It is likely a model 7631 627 000. Does it retain it's paper label?  That would give us its year of manufacture.

Sorry, that actually won't fit. I didn't see the part about the Behr. I have the exact same setup, same stereo. Can you post a pic of the opening you have in the console?

Steve,

If you turn this into an article, does it lose all the entries but for the original post?

Thanks,

Steve

I can merge posts, but not sure what the limits are. I am hoping now, since there is a lot more information you would be able to combine all info collected into one article. There will always be an ability to modify it in the future.

Thanks, Steve,

But with about 5% of the content in the original post, I don't have the time currently to turn the thread into an article. So let's leave it as a thread for now.

Regards,

Steve

Sorry for joining so late. I have a Blaupunkt Hamburg I've been holding for some time to install in an '02 when I finally got one. Can anyone tell me its value (if any) and whether there is a way to add and adaptor or modify the radio to allow iphone/ipod connection?

In your first pic, see the black DIN plug to the left, there are people who make an auxillary cable to plug in there so you can use an iPod/phone or preferred mp3/phone. Do an inter-web-net search for them.

Looks like a 1970 model (the "0" in the model number: 7630...), manufactured in 1971 (the "C" beginning the unit's serial number).

Thanks for posting!

That hole is for the antenna, no DIN plug on this model. There are many of these on eBay that never seem to sell as AM only is not that desirable.

Can anything be done then to incorporate an iPod? Or is it simply going to be for period looks?

An FM transmitter type of iPod adapter would work IF... that radio had FM. I don't believe they make an AM iPod transmitter. Sorry.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
