  1. Clear was only standard on the early 02s and on euro cars.
  2. They are pretty generic but it wouldn’t hurt, I use the Blue Factory manual.
  3. That is interesting, I use ported vacuum as that is how the manual shows it is connected and I have it that way on both my NK and e9.
  4. The FirstFives Forum is alive and well. My 79 528i has the later center vent. It is usually the fan switch and not the motor that has issues. I have a rotary compressor with original condenser and r12 and I get plenty of air into the cabin.
  5. You don’t need a relay to power 21W bulbs. This is the converter you could use however: Just a moment... WWW.ETRAILER.COM
  6. I towed a Hobie Cat in the 70s with my 74 2002, no special wiring is needed but LED bulbs will help to be seen. On second thought, I probably used a small converter to handle the separate running, turn signal and stop lights in the car to a two filament trailer bulb.
  7. It was the Neue Klasse sedans introduced in 1961 that saved BMW, not the 700 which merely soldiered on for a couple more years
  8. The 3200CS was also shown at the September 1961 Frankfurt Auto Show, it has the round lights and the first Hofmeister Kink which also debuted on the 1500 at the same show.
  9. Mike is correct and yes I used a very light coat and it came out perfect.
  10. I used all three to respray the a/c panel after applying rub on letters. For the steering column you don’t need the satin clear.
  11. Some more info on these has been documented here: Manual Transmissions | BMW E9 Coupe Discussion Forum E9COUPE.COM (Under Construction) When the 2800CS made its debut it had a four speed transmission made by ZF. These transmissions are noticeable by the very short casing and an integral shift platform which...
  12. I have installed these in my NK, e9 and e12 for both running and brake lights in Brilliant Red 1156 base. They are truly super bright and have been problem free and many of my friends now use them as well, I highly recommend them. Amazon.com WWW.AMAZON.COM
  13. It goes to your air cleaner to provide suction to the charcoal canister.
  14. Strut shock, it is the only safe way to remove the nut without rotating the shaft which will unscrew and then you are in for more work. Same for tightening.
  15. You’ve been given some bad information unfortunately.
  16. An impact gun will remove both nuts easily and it is really the only way to do the strut nut.
  17. I also think it is a sequence number of some kind. Karmann built the e9s and they stamped a number hidden by the Karmann plate affixed to the driver side A pillar. The 2800CS was numbered up through 9,399 and they started over with the 3.0CS for the next 21,166. There was also a piece of paper glued to the passenger side rear seat bulkhead to alert assembly workers to the vehicle configuration, CS/CSA/CSi/Euro/US etc. and these correspond to the four digit model numbers used just like in the 1600/2002.
  18. All of them are used, 1 is parking light driver side, 3 is passenger side.
  19. I believe the 74-76 2002s are like the 74 e9 where the front frame rail was strengthened and it is wider so you will need a bumper iron with a slight bend to it.
  20. Well, they recycled the CSL name and they weren’t too concerned but I agree with you 100%!
  21. I once had a 265/6 that was stuck and we hadn’t added fluid to it yet, once we did we had success.
  22. Like a back dated 911 to a long hood but a 74 2002 will always be a 74 with square tail lights and only a 69 can be a 69. Just my 2 cents though.
