Will a York ac compressor work with a Behr ac system?

with the Behr unit--although most have been replaced by now with rotaries--they draw less power, are more efficient and don't cause engine shake like the Yorks do...

OK awesome. Thanks guys. I'm pretty sure mine is the stock unit and not a rotary. How can I double check though?

Sounds like you are redoing your A/C so go with the newer and lighter, more efficant rotary unit like this

Would it be a good decision for me to switch to a Sanden compressor and where can I get one? It seems like from my searches that a lot of guys are using a Sanden. I already have a 134a conversion. Would a Sanden work with that?

jgerock-If I switch to a new compressor and you have mounting brackets for it, I will take one for sure. I'll keep you posted.

It's all good Ken. I had the bracket powdercoated at the same time as my tii air cleaner. In a box waiting to be installed later when I get my act together.

Yeah - I'm saving mine for when I get around to re-building an engine to go into my car.

Ok so I went to look at my compressor to see if it was the York or not. Turns out that I already have a 134a conversion. I also did some searching on here about the Sanden compressor. I saw a picture of one and it also appears to be what is in my car. Does anyone know if these can be rebuilt or should I just get a new one?

On Sanden's website, they say you should buy new.

then again, they have a vested interest in wanting you to buy new vs. rebuild.

But - if Sanden doesn't support rebuilding, I don't know where you would get a rebuild kit.
