  1. I would just cut a small slot in the existing bolt and screw it back in. sometimes use an impact driver with a flat head bit to snug it up. fwiw, Matt
  2. What voltage is at the coil when starting? It could to be to low from a weak charged battery. What coil are you using? Is the resister still being used in the circuit, while cranking? Is the battery fully charged? Might need more advance at stating.
  3. I'll take the vent tubes $20, rear roundels $50, and the voltage regulator $10. Matt
  4. Interested in the early "silver dollar" speedo and tach or the whole cluster with the gauges.
  5. Seb, Are these still available? I would like to buy come.
  6. Did the engine builder use the correct size sealing ring on the oil spray bar banjo bolt? They (2 needed) are thicker than standard sealing rings. I have seen the bolt hit the cam bearing when only one is used or the standard thickness rings and the bolt is over tightened. fwiw, Matt
  7. I have used wave washers on every engine I have built also. I have never had an issue with the main bearing cap bolts with wave washers. Building M10, M30 and M20 engines since 1989. fwiw, Matt
  8. Just got off the phone and was quoted approximately $265 on aisle 4
  9. I have used Radiator Works in Northridge, CA. Fantastic craftsmanship and service. I would highly recommend. Not the cheapest but I believe might be cheaper than a new one. fwiw, Matt
  10. This is most likely the problem. It's not peened any longer.
  11. The auto trans can be fun especially when the downshift cable is adjusted to up shift near the 6k rpm range. They also came with the 3.45:1 diff. fwiw, Matt
  12. I have also seen the alternator adjusting arm replaced with the smog pump adjusting arm, which is longer and the slot does not allow the alternator to move closer to the block. The correct alt adjusting arm should have 2 slight bends. the smog pump type will be straight. It also will be closer to the battery.
  13. Welcome to the fun and hopefully will be seeing you driving around. Cheers and nice looking 02, Matt
  14. Does the brake booster have one way check valve and is it installed correctly? That little pipe does not look correct.
  15. Are the calipers still available? I will take them. Matt
  16. I only use Red Loctite on the oil pump nut. I haven't lost one yet.
  17. Andrew, you could do what I did and make one. Weld two short levers together. Cheers, Matt
  18. John, I'll take it, if it's not sold already. Matt
  19. This was copied from the Production Run article by @Mike Self . Here you go. Matt May 1969 US automatic production begins at VIN 2530001; about 1000 built in the 1969 model year. Automatics have clocks instead of tachometers. Sept 1969 US 1970 BMW 2002 model production begins at approximately VIN 1668756 for stick, 2531023 for automatics, 1569647 for BMW 1600s. Again, not all the changes below were initiated at the quoted VINs. Rear turn signal lenses changed to amber Front turn signal lenses bulge outward and use a single two-filament bulb Optional alloy wheels were introduced; they have five slots divided by radial ribs and are 5x13 inch versions of the 14 inch CS coupe alloys. Initially offered on the ti models, they were not readily available in the US until the tii was introduced to the US market for the 1972 model year Silver paint was eliminated on the wheel covers, now polished stainless steel; the valve stem now has its own dedicated round hole vs the small cutout used on the painted wheel covers. Front seatbacks narrowed Windshield wiper blades lengthened to 15 inches; previously 13 inches Outside rearview mirror enlarged at VIN 1671845 and 2532051 (automatics)—the “trapezoid” mirror Side grilles have black anodized appliques glued over the grille bars vs. the black paint used on earlier BMW 2002s.
  20. Yes, until, it see the crank spinning. No rpm signal to the MS unit, it disconnects the fuel pump relay.
  21. I found a set on fleabay but paid many coins for it. It took a while to get also. I was happy when they arrived and worked perfectly. fwiw, Matt
  22. Honestly, whatever someone will pay. In today's volatile economy it could be worth less than 5-10 years ago, even though the price will be higher. I would imagine it will be costing more dollar notes than someone, is willing to pay. I wish you all the best in selling if that's the route you're going.
  23. Alexander (Slav), The devaluing of the dollar (federal reserve script) is what you're experiencing. It's not the people or cars.
