  1. appears that possibly, maybe, perhaps this person admires the fact that you park your well sorted vehicle away from everything...And possibly, maybe, perhaps the owner of this vehicle loves his car as much as you love yours and they know for a fact that no harm will come to either car...if they park next to yours, hence the respectful spacing..sort of a safe bet, in this instance...... ira
  2. 38/38 is cool.....32/36 w/a sync-link sold by pierce manifold or whoever is just as cool... I'm currently running a 38/38 on one car then I'm running a 32/36 sync-linked weber on two other cars... The spice added to a sync-linked 32/36 is worth the price of admission. ira
  3. great write...nice follow-up...way to dispel rumors, and i heards....fantastic outcome...wonderful before, during , and after photos......2,500.00 for what they did in this day and age is a rare find........thanks for sharing your first hand experience... ira
  4. Yep Road trip...we don't agree on this one... Me thinks this is safe bet, given the said info...but i don't scare easily...cheap hotel for week, waiting for parts, in 2016...you're kidding right?
  5. +! with jrhone...... couple of photos of the underside..short video of the thing running...the thing has a california plate, appears clean as.........theres no doubt in my mind that if the price was right and the above checked out, i'd buy a one way ticket........what a great adventure...i'm excited for you i love cheap thrills like this........ to easy ira
  6. That's a good, balanced and wholesome neck of the woods.... I predict a win for the Dubs...Parade on Thursday
  7. @laundrmatt i bought them at oreillys on broadway in oakland....
  8. Absolutely fair assessment... There is a difference. A positive difference Thanks for the effort and feedback John Did you have to gap them at all? ira
  9. Good morning Mintgrun I have moved on from the Engine Restorer which I was a big fan of now I use Risoline Engine treatment..Seems to be a small step up from Engine restorer.. Try the Risoline there's something to it especially if you've experienced the engine restorer.. I havent explored much in the way of coolant. Simply because my car runs at the 4-5 oclock position... As for the rotation of the iridium well this is my first experience with them. I have to admit with normal plugs I just use a wire brush on them and put them back in..Probably frowned upon but that's what I do in my world =) ira
  10. Just an update..... I went Youtube (university) again. I watched an interesting video on Berryman B12 Chemtool. From what I saw it seemed to be pretty effective in cleaning the internals of the engine. Soooooooo I bought some of that put an entire can in the gas tank. The Berryman coupled with my new found iridium spark plugs are an absolute joy... All this to say my car was running very well before these endeavors. "I just wanted to see"...So far so good =)...Results may vary ira
  11. Hey Jrhone I've been reading your contributions for awhile. I'm absolutely sure you'll like these plugs. Good point Toby I almost forgot. They did glow (even in broad daylight) when I removed them from the box- I don't know what that's about- But, took immediate action I put on my stage 4 iridium suit as I installed these puppies, just before my dental appointment on the streets of Downtown Oakland- Toby I think it's active. Nomad, It's secret bro. Only those who know, know, but who knows.. I'll just keep it at that.... Money well spent IMO ira
  12. Hi All Always looking for a little something. A little more uuummph.. A little wow that's pretty cool. Well today was that day.. I bought my daily driver 1971, 02', 38/38, 5spd some brand new NGK-BPR6EIX-6637 iridium spark plugs, from oreillys. I installed them straight out of the box. No gapping eventhough they measured at .25 I dig this for the sake of shiggles and I'm here to tell my normal spirited drive home was enhanced two fold.... Hopefully there's two to a few folks on the forum that would not mind taking a chance and buying/installing these things...Then maybe we can start a thread about the experience.. Oh and of course I looked at them on Youtube first then became extremely curious Until then drive safe, relatively safe ira
  13. or just step on the gas pedal after you turn off the ignition....the car won't diesel
  14. I do not see a downside. It sounds like you've got a good handle of the mechanics on cars. Your description sounds like you've found a diamond stuck in time.....Hopefully the price is right. I say thumbs up vote.. Good luck ira
  15. I like car alarms with an ignition kill switch, and a hood trigger in general.....I wouldn't inconvenience myself for a person who feels HE sold an item lower than HE should have...WE have all sold something that WE maybe could have gotten more for.. If the guy continues to contact you, you could ignore his calls. Or you can respond in text and start a conversation via text. That way if something were to go south you'll have his thoughts, his intent , and his a fore knowledge archived. All that said.. whatever enjoy the carbs
  16. Both is cool. I normally just do the one opposite the solenoid but it can't hurt....And in all honesty, today is Wednesday I did mine on Monday just cause my idle change, I started smelling exhaust, and my acceleration was crummy....Removed the jet, looked through it there was a simple crumb stuck it , blew it out, then for good measure squirted carb cleaner up the same hole .......work perfect literally drove car 105 mph (not recommended, but) .....My car was happy....
  17. I agree with Mike87...Simple to remove with a flat head blow out the jet. Spray carb cleaner in the hole you remove the idle jet screw from....Replace the idle jet/screw....This will be much better.. 5 minutes work tops
  18. Hi Colby I hope that your idle issues go away and are an easy fix... I think that the problems may have started the same day you guys (Utah Utes) beat Cal Bears.....This may be some sort of short term Cal Bear curse. GO BEARS ira
  19. All We talked about this a few months ago when a Malaga was stolen....So, I got curious and found this product by Shaper Image. It seems self contained meaning that you don't need a contract.... It's called a : Personal GPS Homing Device $69.99 ITEM #200194 Maybe I'm over simplifying this because I looked at it briefly but it seems like it can be set discreetly in your vehicle and tracked when needed.......Please check my work.. ira
  20. Uncommon is it's strength....The goal is to get the person behind you's attention.......An odd placed light will do just that... There are plenty of third light cars, with a standard high "positioned light," that have traffic accidents daily.....Faaaar more than a low light, less intense, low profile, hard to see, standard 1970's BMW 2002, with no third light..... The "odd" position is out of the norm. Out of the norm/odd catches a human being's attention. Increases perception. Increases anticipation. The goal in accident prevention is to have the person behind you (in front of you, approaching from the side of you) pay attention/see/avoid your car. People see the high positioned lights everyday....That's normal lulls them to sleep...results in a crash =/ Here's the reaction , "Hey look at that little 2002, it has a brake light on it's license plate" conversation, results in attention, equals no crash...=) My two cents.. ira
  21. Steven I like the placement of your light...It seems that in that position it will catch the curiosity/attention a little more than having it in the higher location...Simply because it's different and it's uncommon to see a brake light on a license plate.... Thumbs up ira
  22. Pedal club...Their made out of tempered steel (difficult to cut) and they sit in an awkward position switch the coil wire with a spark plug wire at the distributor...All the wires appear to be in their natural position at first glance As far as the flat bed: buy your own wheel boot, just like the one's that the city puts on when you have to many outstanding tickets.. These measure are far from absolute..BUT they take time and most thieves aim for low hanging fruit.. ira

  24. Percy I respect your thorough opinion. If we've had this much conversation about my thoughts on oil, you can only imagine how I configure my carbs Bottom line I'm really enjoying the ultimate driving experience ira
  25. I guess this doesn't work for you, Percy......Also, it appears that we have different outlooks on the ventures of a shade tree mechanic. Cool we don't agree, that works for me. Based on your long thesis I'm most probably gonna keep using my elixirs. However, if you have not tried a product, then how in the world can you say thumbs up or thumbs down..I mean your long explanation sounds good but you fall short varied practical application..... I'm overjoyed that your 68 Big block enjoyed 10w30 oil and ran flawlessly (oil wise). So if that's your practical measurement. You would be happy to know all my vehicles are running flawlessly with my exotic blends (oil wise). I guess we have the same results with different mindsets. Your long spiel is extremely impressive though. Again, if you have not experimented much then, your explanation is purely speculation. Also, having a conversation based on you driving slow in a big block is not really that thrilling of a conversation. Most likely every car driven moderately could use the same weight motor oil and eclipse 500k. Why not? Cool conversation I appreciate the input. Mixing is what "I" do. Is there an advantage I seem to think so (guess that's what matters). I've passed on what "I do", what I "practice", juuust in case someone else wonders if the world is round.. ira
