  1. Hi Ace I respect the re-direct putting the focus back on the 02’ madness... Which I love this site for.. However, ‘the sha” was attempting to be a cyber bully with traits of being a troll...Against, one of the most respected members in this community .. Thats a no go..... Theres a thing called “etiquette “ In life I pick the sore i fall on.. This was one of them.. So, yep I absolutely called him on it..... Such a strongly worded email for a docile situation, could have been handled behind the scene, would have been more appropriate and appreciated.. Reason being in all the years I’ve been here, there have been minimal dust ups (Sorry Esty I love you though).. In my opinion left unopposed “the sha” would still be spewing from a high horse.... He should follow his own advice.. “Follow the plan “ 02’ shit... So yep I stuck up for Steve..... period.... Far from a tough guy, macho, keyboard warrior, some call it “principle”........ I’d do it again every time....face to face or otherwise........ On a lighter note... To “ the Sha’s” he’s a great writer... Be safe ira????
  2. sha·man /ˈSHämən,ˈSHāmən/ Learn to pronounce noun noun: shaman; plural noun: shamans a person regarded as having access to, and influence in, the world of good and evil spirits, especially among some peoples of northern Asia and North America. Typically such people enter a trance state during a ritual, and practice divination and healing. That's a joke Shaman2002 couldn't even search the website for information on a simple starter.....Some nerve, you have 1-2-3 posts, and upset your ONE of the 1-2-3 was missed, by an administrator that runs an upstanding...."free site"..........Just plain stupid... It's a starter one of the simplest components on an 02..........Several threads on the starter alone One of silliest posts I've read in quite a long time......anywhere Hopefully the entire 02 community is laughing at you........Your thread is silly.....Steve doesn't deserve this stupid grief..........Especially on a free, well traveled website....... Who cares if Steve never puts your post up...I don't. Your post doesn't deserve to be posted just based on your silly ungracious response.. The website will survive without a shaman.......I'm certain ira That's my real name
  3. I consider EVERYONE a BS'r and a Scammer including me, until the money is exchanged..........Especially the folks that ask silly rhetorical questions in spite of an informative write up with photos and the offer of a video....It's my belief 02's do not need to be sold........You either know about them or you don't....When I sold one of mine earlier this year I would just say, "My car is looking for a buyer"............The price was a no haggle price Good luck Airborne
  4. I would not change a lot those look equally beautiful...... Airborne
  5. Unfortunately these days more than anytime in our history...”If it bleeds it reads” Unfortunately ... I had an engine rebuilt two months ago and Ireland supplied me with the vast majority of the parts They were not able to supply me with the main bearings.. Simply as they explained they happened to be on back order from their supplier... Message received Im sure it’s probably just me. But, every time I’ve ordered from them (I only use the phone) I’ve been amazed at how fast my items get shipped and received in California It appears the above comments (negative) were probably out of frustration of not being able to get started on our long list of 02 projects All this to say I love dealing with Ireland Engineering... Their good out weighs their bad.. Glad to have them around..... STILL Airborne
  6. Wow........Certainly Bay Area history?
  7. Excellent idea... As for blue speaker idea you may want to consider the Wonder boom 2 Ultimate ears.... I tried the Anker and a few other blue tooth speakers..But, competed with the engine noise However, Wonder boom 2 from California to Arizona and back great sound, long battery life. I had to plug it into my cigarette charger eventually it would have been nice to have had your set up... Thanks sharing Airborne
  8. Saw it in Berkeley last week. Because it was me?... 1966 Triumph TR4.....No truck required
  9. Thanks for your service Devil Dog A round tail BMW 2002 TII will sell itself, every time....A salvage title on a running 2002 especially a running , 49 year old round tail 2002 Tii, really does not matter....The inventory of available 2002's, particularly Round tail Tii's is going down daily..... There are something you can do to capture top dollar. Like get it running, no overheating, good tracking, paperwork, yeah that's cool. But, at 56 years old, I do not even have all my paperwork.. Bottom line you have a valuable car, that is in demand......If your finances can handle it...DO NOT have a fire sale on this vehicle....................If haven't looked in awhile but I don't think you can find a round tail Tii for less than 10k in running condition. So, sight unseen. IMHO your vehicle is worth at least 10k........ Put the thing on the market, if you'd like. Your buyer WILL find it....... Good luck Devil Dog ira?
  10. "Single weight oils, lives matter"......Take it to the streets (literally)...Who's streets, Our streets.....West Palm keep up the good work?
  11. You should not make anymore changes until you lube, lube, sand, polish and or remove any and all corrosion shown on your electrical contacts...........Give yourself a fighting chance.....All of the contacts I see from the coil to the ballasts have corrosion on them....Corrosion ....Ruins continuity .......Once things are cleaned up, you might be able to run as is.....Or you will be able to better isolate an actual problem........I think you'll be ok Good luck ira
  12. The creator of the pictured target appears to have some trigger squeeze issues.....??...
  13. Well....At the end of the day. If you do still legitimately own the car ie: have the title in your name (in your physical possession even better) , vehicle registered in your name, then you still DO own this car......Absolutely call police and report the car stolen.... Because the car IS still yours......But, don't stop there go to your local DMV and launch an investigation with their fraud investigative branch...Simply if the car is registered by it's assigned Vehicle Identification Number (V.I.N.) DMV can find it anywhere in the United States...... Now admittedly I did not follow this entire story because it induced my ADHD which I did not know I had.....But, if the experience you shared is legit, then by all means do the above.... Good luck ira
  14. WOW...I ran out of fingers and toes, TWICE....THANK YOU
  15. I served in the Middle East 2003-2004 didn’t know much about 2002s. Once I returned from my deployment in 2005 I decided to take sometime off and live off “desert money”. During that time my daily driver was a 1967 1600 2d white with a huge unnecessary roll bar. I loved that car. However, during this hiatus I noticed a white 2002. But, what caught my attention was how tall the driver was when he exited the car. I thought wow that big ole guy fit in that little car.. Size was fresh on my mind, because I had to darn near take up yoga to fit in my 1600... So, 2005 went by. Then one day I was randomly searching through Craigslist, for nothing in particular, and discovered a 1971 2002 Granada for sale near ocean beach in San Francisco. Made contact with the guy. Ended up arranging a test drive. But, before we left he gave me a tour of the car.. I absolutely could not believe how huge the trunk was and the field of vision from sitting in the driver’s seat was unmatched. He then let me drive. Oh single barrel solex, 4spd..Recaro seats. We drove on Ocean beach highway..Off the top I was really impressed with the pedal response. Then incredibly (to me) I got the car up to 90 mph... THIS car so simple. It excited the heck out of me...Oxidized paint , patches of rust included . I loved it. Up to that point I had never been so impressed by such a no frills car. I paid 1800.00 for the car. Now I own a total of 4... Love the 2002 And weird thing when I’m driving one of my non-2002s and 2002 drives by . I so wanna make it home and switch out cars.. As far as I’m concerned I will always own a 2002. ira
  16. That’s great point...... Which begs the question actually.. What draws a person to buy 2002 out of all of the many many choices, especially folks that have served? Interesting
  17. Working for dimes on the dollar, loved every minute of it...
  18. Beautiful car...Maybe try cleaning and greasing all of the horn (spades) contacts........I'm pretty sure they haven't been wiped down...just like mine......in a long while You'll get it ira
  19. Big discussion What's the final answer? Did you buy or run?
  20. Yessss And with sponsors like MurphinDC and NYNick. Let’s make it an even $2000.00 Thanks in advance fellas ”Ugly 02’ lives matter “ Drove my old, rusty, mixed matched color, No AC , 1970, from the Bay Area to Phoenix and back two weeks ago........Ran like a beautiful concours 02’ Have fun
  21. That car is 2hrs. of basic maintenance to get it started and running. One power wash from being absolutely beautiful...All for $1000.00 dollars.................Essentially ALL of our cars are projects......Go for, enjoy the experience, it's gonna be one heck of a story....All from taking a wrong turn............If it doesn't workout, throw the damn thing in your "neighbors swimming pool" Quote un-Quote C.D. Too easy, Have fun ira
  22. Had this done at Pele’s Mufflers in Albany, Ca within the last two months Not noisy whatsoever. Nice small groan certainly not enough to bother my neighbors Ira
  23. In California we pay for solutions. Then wait for a problem....?
  24. The context is. Just took a road trip from the Bay Area to Phoenix. The car 1970 02 32/36 Weber w/sync link , 4spd ran beautifully through the desert, no AC... The Arizona gas nozzle compared to the California gas nozzle makes perfect sense for pumping gas into my 02.
