  1. Donation sent. The info here is worth far more to me than this small sum, and I know none of us would want to see it fade away.
  2. I've been in email contact with them, and they will not ship to US. Also, these are face-side only, no frames, stiffeners, or dimensions or attachement points. Please let me know if anyone finds out differently on the shipping, at these prices it would be worth the cost just as cheap molds - if they are accurate. We're also interested if anyone knows of any high quality glass or carbon providers here in the US.
  3. Bill really nailed it with the list - I have to admit to #10 (boots) 2x - once with my r100 bike and as a partial answer to my 02 gas smell! I did find a pinhole leak at the gas tank gasket near filler, but also found my Heater Fan was running backwards (thanks PO) and sucking air from the boot into the cabin when running. That's how I discovered the pinhole leak - was too small normally to see, but with the fan on it really stood out. What gave the fan reversal away was when I turned off the fan, the cabin got warm, and no smell. Also when I checked the wiring diagram it shows the later dash provides (-) switching which promted the PO to do wire games... still working the other weird electricals out.
  4. Although it's considered a "local" tool, I've used CraigsList successfully to sell to a national auddience for BMW and other items over the past 3 yrs. Many CraigsListers (is that a word?) do search nationally, and I bought my present 02 resulting from a national (regional) search. People responding to my listings have been easy to qualify and I havn't run into more than one or two who were not genuinely interested.
  5. I also have a Cali 02 (12/69 build) and wondered the same thing. Does this removal require any timing/tuning changes since it removes the distributor advance/retard control? Thanks.
  6. I've recently dealt with Scottie Sharpe and Susquehanna Motorsports. Both provided good service, prompt response, and I was very satisifed with the products sent in a timely fashion and received in as-advertised condition. Dave in Baltimore Maryland USA
  7. the mylar looks great. I'vr also had problems keeping it in place. regular contact cement waswnt good enough. BTW, is that a Becker Europa in the console?? How do you like the sound?? I've got one new in a box, and I'm trying to figure out if I should install it or go another route.
  8. ...so I did a search on the string "do a search" and found 4078 posts where that was suggested. probably not that bad considering the huge number of total posts.
  9. It's a long shot for you, but - I had a persistent gas smell only when I ran the heater blower. Seems the PO miswired the heater when replacing the dashboard and the fan was sucking air out of the cabin and from the trunk along with a strong gas odor. I doubt ur using a heater in Marin Co. but it's a shot.
  10. I've used their products successfully for years on motorcycle fairings, helmet face shield, plexi coffee table tops and drop top rear plexi, They used to sell a couple other products but looks like they've gone to a "kit". I still use toothpaste for brass and soft metals as well! http://www.meguiars.com/estoreproduct_list.cfm?sectionname=Consumer%20(Meguiar%27s%20Brand)%3EClear%20Plastic%20Care&sectionID=15101
  11. DUOFast Sells an electric stapler that will use 1/8" upholstery staples. It's about $200 but does go on sale http://www.itwindfast.com/tools/index.cfm/toolID/7/Staplers/Electric/EIC-3118/
  12. After I read a number of posts about getting rear-ended, I was looking around to find a discrete (near invisible normally) way to fit slim stop, tail and turn LED strips high in the rear window. So I checked the Hella site and found these during my search. Sure looks like you could combine these to make a modern Stop, Tail, Turn (no reverse) combo light very similar to what BMW originally fit! http://b2c.hella.com/b2c_hella/b2c/init.do?language=en&country=gb&shop=EN_GB&scenario.xcm=hella_gb
  13. I've searched the forum and archives, and the net, but I'm not finding a 6 fuse 1969-70 2002 wiring diagram. I've found close, but not really. Any ideas on where to find this early version for my 70 Sahara? Thanks in advance! im02crazy@yahoo.com
  14. It's not on any North American Becker sites cause of the freq differences and GPS dataset is EU and GB only. Nice unit, but sick pricing! I must complement Becker NA on a great job on my new-in-a box Mexico. The radio came out of my 75 the day I bought it and installed a Sony removable. Perfect condition, but needed new rubber parts and a new front audio input. When I got it back last year it looked and worked brand new. Great product and service.
  15. Really great series of shots! Thanx for posting. I'm less fearful of dropping a mill - as soon as I find a nice clean 2002 candidate here in Baltimore! By the looks of that underhood area seems you really did a ground-up restoration-level job.
