  1. i know its been for sale for a long time. at the price its at, its probably worth the drive.
  2. Nate, Welcome to the NK madness. We're now bretheren in an odd way, as I am the current owner of a '69 2000 that was previously owned by Mr. Smith. (its a sickness for him, he cant help himself) Maybe we need to start a support group..LOL I look forward to seeing what you do with her. here was the link i posted about the car. Maybe some of the people from that thread can help, one was a P.O. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,335313/
  3. Luis, saw your 500 in the latest HS&EC. Congrats! Im looking forward to the story on your green machine. Cheers, Martin
  4. this fellow has them listed in his ebay store for $350. http://stores.ebay.com/BARTELSTONE-GLASS-DISTRIBUTORS__W0QQ_sidZ11928163?_nkw=BMW
  5. Eric, I have a set on my NK and am planning to change over to the euro stlye square lights. I think i have all the pieces for the conversion, so once i have it done, I'll be happy to offer everything to you. You said you are in the Netherlands, i was wondering if you've ever met Jeffrey Kok, he's a friend of mine from the Netherlands, a fellow 02 touring owner and he's coming over for Vintage in the Vineyards this month! Cheers, Martin
  6. awesomeness.... love the sound! Love the passing of E types and 935 Moby Dick cars even better!!!!
  7. Hugh, As a suggestion, you may be able to buy the blanks from the dealer and then have them trace cut by a local lock smith. ( well at least in the case of the gas cap key) but they are steel blanks so some locksmiths get cranky about that. Cheers, Martin
  8. Jim, The cars are out there, but you're going to have to look for them, and you're going to have to be patient. I would suggest looking in Europe. Mike Pugh's friend Jeffrey Kok lives in the Netherlands, and he'd be a great source for infromation on cars over there. Restored or nice cars over here seem to be bringing more and more dollars. Or you can find a project car like Bill did, and restore one. But i think you'll be further ahead dollars wise finding a nice complete one. Good Luck! Martin
  9. Im really sorry i dont know what that P/N you have is, best guess is that it is the P/N that the retailer you are talking to applies to it. The K number is Sachs' own Kit number for the car and includes the three pieces you need for the clutch replacement. i would contact Northside, they're good guys there. Martin
  10. Dave, Thanks very much!! No imbibing yet, i'm still at the office, and for some crazy reason they frown upon that stuff.... Will be having one or two Caparahnias tongiht, we're going to Texas de Brazil the Brazillian Steakhouse...Look out meat, here i come! thanks again for the wishes, Martin
  11. I dont know who's telling you what, but i work for ZF (we own Sachs) and the Sachs Kit number that you have is correct - KF138-01 ( i just verified it in the catalogue. You can order the kit through O'Reilys, Carquest or Nothside Imports.
  12. As a MidAM virgin, it was great to finally be able to attend. Bo, thanks to you and your lovely bride ( and the rest of the team - you know who you are) that put on a fantastic event, even though mother nature was PMSing. (LOL) If you're on the fence about attending this event its time to get off and go. Its an incredibly picturesque area, the roads really ARE that fun and the people, what needs to be said about a bunch of 02 owners - they're just like YOU! So how could you not like them???? Looking forward to making the trip again in the future. Cheers, Martin
  13. Paul, Great kludge!!! Great to meet you and the texas crew this weekend. Glad you guys all made it home with only a minor inconvenience. Cheers, Martin
  14. Bill, I know Don Dethlefsen well, it was his car. Hee sold it at auction about 1.5 years ago. FYI - Don is still active at the Werkshop, mostly heading up the resto projects. His Son in Law Mike runs the repair shop. IF you have questions about the car, just drop Don an email. You can fins his email addy on the werk shop's website. Cheers, Martin
  15. Larry, That you?? send me a note on my email: martin.meissnerATzf.com so we can excahnge cell numbers and probably hook up. I was planning on leaving early to beat Chicago morning traffic, and that would put me around St. Louis noonish..
  16. Im headed out tomorrow AM for the Mid America 02 meet. Leaving from Chicagoville. Is there anyone driving through that i can hook up with? Let me know! Martin
  17. hey folks.. Autoweek is running a contest to choose the best mid size sedans... BMW seems to be losing ground to domestics like the Dodge Avenger.. I think it's time we jumped in and helped the Bavarain Brand out a little. As they say in Chicago, "vote early vote often" http://www.autoweek.com/section/bestcsegment
  18. George, If it doesnt sell, maybe you want to send it down with Mike Self to Vintage in the Vinyards. With over 200 vintage BMW's already registered, i cant imagine a better place to raise big money then with that crowd... Its for a good cause, so Im sure Scott Sturdy - the festmeister would be happy to promote it at the event. Martin
  19. Here's the press release right from BMW. A classic center will be opening in the US at some point. My guess is somewhere in CA near the area where M-B Classic is. https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/pressclub/p/pcgl/pressDetail.html?outputChannelId=6&id=T0079236EN&left_menu_item=node__2387
  20. Knauz on 41 has a collection of interesting old cars behind the BMW dealership
  21. Bill's a buddy of mine, and the only person i know that could pull that whole thing off. Great guy. Watch for him in the spring Lemons race at Gingerman - he'll be running a 88 750IL that they've gutted and caged.
  22. Hey Jeff, did you have any luck on the light?
  23. look on this list - i dont know if this guy's open for a trade, but there's a Tilux in SoCal with a parts car ( parts cars are a huge benefit as there are so many NLA parts with NKs. ) Sounds like a pretty decent deal. There have alos been a few NKs for sale in South FL over the past year. Quite honestly, i think your tii is worth far more then many NK sedans out there. My advice would be to sell your tii and then find the NK you want. You'll probably be money ahead.
  24. wow...... hello, the '70's called - they want their interior back...
