  1. I’m looking to find out if anyone has a colour match for the red housing and knows if there’s a transfer decal so I can properly restore one of these. TIA!
  2. All my knowledge of the Glas acquisition by BMW was that they needed the production space and basically used up parts until they could change the line over. There were a couple “GMWs” that we’re all aware of, the 1600GT and the 3000 V8 coupe, but that was it as far as I know. My speculation is that the 02 tourings with Glas badging was simply an early version of camouflage. I’m sure these were preproduction cars that were being tested. Hatchbacks have always been popular in Germany, and I don’t really think the Glas 1304 had any real influence on the touring. As you said Les, the touring was designed by michelotti. I might be wrong, but I think the link is just too thin.
  3. Former BC guy, still have family on the Island. There used to be a local BC 02 group that was pretty active, but I think it kind of fell apart a few years ago. A friend of mine moved to the island a couple of years ago, with his really nice Colorado 73.
  4. A friend of mine says to take it to RWM & Co in Delta. He says they do VERY good work.
  5. Hey Jim, great to see thigns coming along so nicely. Car continues to look better and better. Just a quick question, have you debadged the rear of the car? I looked at that picture of the rear of the car with the bumper on and dont see any holes for the roundel or model designation. Cheers, Martin
  6. Jim, regarding the headliner wrinkles, imho I would think a steamer would be better than a heat gun.
  7. HI everyone, we're starting Coffee & Classics in South Florida. It will be the last Sunday of each month at The Floridian in Fort Lauderdale. See more information on the Events page. Hope to see some other 02ers out there. Cheers, Martin

  10. The touring bodies are different from the base of the A pillar back. Sorry Bill, but the roofs are TALLER and longer than the sedan. So all the glass is specific to tourings. Also both windshield wipers are different to clean a larger swath of the windshield. Standard 02 wipers work the just leave a lot of the windshield not cleaned. I think most everyone else here has chimed in with good points. In the rear area check where the bracing at the trunk floor meets the inner fenders (the angle brackets by the tool kit in the pictures bill attached) they have a tendency to crack here/ also lift the carpet to check the inner fenders. I would second making sure you have ALL the interior parts for the folding rear seats and the trunk area. Hopefully the current owner hasn't started the resto process and the car is complete. Good luck with it!
  11. JIm, project is coming along nicely! It will be beautiful when its done! A note on the taillights, I had success putting my NK lenses in the dishwasher. It was a trick that a friend thats into old minis showed me. If you've got an extra set, maybe try it with them first. Cheers, Martin
  12. Might be up for it, but I'm right in the middle of a busy travel time with work at that time.
  13. I'd agree with Bill that's its probably about the Kfisher belt. If you've never changed it and you have no record opf anyone doing it, that's likely the culprate. Jumping teeth shouldnt result in a No Start, but the belt breaking will...Ask me how i know. I ended up replacing mine on the side of the interstate. Mine was original, and had finally desintigrated. Luckily i had one in my tii roadside repair kit (thanks BT!) Same exact issue, it would crank, catch and die. You should be able to take the bolts out of the top of the cover for the Kfisher belt and open it enough to look in. Have someone crank the car and watch the pump pulley. if it doesnt turn, you're replacing your belt. As Bill says, buy two.
  14. Mark Twain once said "the reports of my death have been greatly exagerated". That's a little how im feeling right now Mr. Williams. Where on earth would you come up with the idea that i would part with my car??? LOL!!!! You can rest easy, the touring is nesteled comfortably in the garage at my casa. Thanks for sharing the post Justin. Cheers, Martin
  15. is this anyone's car from the group? Pictures look nice, although im curious about the colour. IMHO if its a clean original 74 tii, it's a screaming deal. http://spacecoast.en.craigslist.org/cto/3873784227.html
  16. Hey all, here are a couple of pics of my "collection" a 72 tii Touring and a 69 2000A. Just relocated down to Fort Lauderdale from Chicago. The touring is down here with me, the NK is in the process of getting a new motor and a 5 Speed. Once the conversion is complete i'll bring it down from Chi-town. Hoping to meet up with other 02bies in South Florida. Cheers, Martin
  17. Hey all, new to the group, happy to be here! Just noticed the cool colorado or Inka face staring at me with the "Florida" licence plate and the first thing that crossed my mind is "We're lucky enough to be a group that has the same name as a BMW colour, shouldnt the header be a Florida coloured 02? Just sayin. If anyone has a good Florida car shot i think that would be cool! Maybe im on my own here but i thought i'd bring it up. Cheers, Martin
  18. Jim, That bump with a hole in it looks similar to the ones on my NK pedal box, one of which has a small rubber pad attached to it. I think it's kind of a pedal stop. Martin
  19. Pete, suggest you look in the 02 parts for sale category in the main forum area.
  20. Gbare, Im interested in your +100's send me an email at tiitouring02atyahoodotcom Thanks, Martin
  21. Gbare, im def interested. shoot me an email please @ tiitouring02@yahoo.
  22. Hi folks, im looking for a 100+ wheel. It has to be 6J x 13. im not as much worried about the condition, as long as the wheel is straight. For those who dont know what a 100+ wheel looks like, picture is attached. Thanks! Martin
  23. Great project Solarphil! I really like the way youve managed all the pieces that came off, especially the glass rack, very cool! I have to admit that Sienna is a colour close to my heart. I had a Sienna car for many years, when it comes out of the paintbooth it looks so great. Good luck with it, i'll be watching it as you progress.
